I teach lots of different card classes, and one particular demographic that people often have trouble creating for is the teenage girl. Cards can’t be too babyish or on the other hand too overtly adult, and it’s difficult to find a happy medium that won’t illicit eye rolling or gasps of embarrassment. I think I have found a solution. I created this set of cards using Imagine Crafts Creative Medium Iridescent. The results were quite dramatic, yet still pretty…much like a teenage girl!

Skill: Beginner

Time: 10-30 minutes per card + drying time

Step 1

To create these backgrounds, you’ll need Creative Medium Iridescent Purple, black cardstock, a palette knife, a craft sheet and some stencils.

Step 2

Take some Creative Medium from the tub using a palette knife and scrape it through the stencil onto the black cardstock.

Step 3

The Creative Medium will appear white when freshly applied, and then change to purple when dry.

Tip: I allowed the backgrounds to dry overnight before putting together the cards.

Step 4

Stamp sentiments on white cardstock with Memento Luxe ink, I used Lilac Posies. Adhere your dry backgrounds, sentiments and embellishments onto purple cards.
