Delicata has new colors and now making techniques like emboss resist with a metallic touch is much easier. Today I am sharing with you a double embossing effect that I get using the Gridiron Fine Detailed Embossing Folder from Seth Apter Spellbinders Collection with Delicata Celestial Copper from Imagine.
Cut a layer of card stock in a clear color; I used Sahara Sand. Make a regular embossing over this piece using the Gridiron or embossing folder.
Take the Delicata inkpad in Celestial Copper and pass it lightly over the raised parts of the card stock.
Since Delicata is a pigment ink you have some minutes before it dries to apply the Clear Embossing Powder and melt it with the heat tool.
Now to develop the emboss resist technique you can use Kaleidacolor Inks and you can apply the inks with Ink Blushers or sponges. I used two different collections of Kaleidacolor. First I used the Fresh Greens and then I used the Bouquet to enhance some parts of the color. With a paper towel remove the excess of ink over the embossing.
Create the base of your card using a dark color of card stock. The size of my card is 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ closed and the base in Metallic Dark Brown. The second layer is a Very Vanilla card stock and the size is 4-1/8″x5-3/8″.
Paste the embossed and colored layer on the card using Tear It! Tape, a double sided adhesive tape. It is easy to hand tear and offers a strong adhesion.
Take a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock and stamp your main image using Delicata Dark Brown Shimmer and then apply Clear Embossing Powder. Melt the powder. Sponge the borders of the card stock with one of the colors of the Kaleidacolor Inks that you used for the background. Color in parts of the stamp as you see fit.
Paste the stamped piece created over the base of the card using double sided foam tape.
