I decided to make a Summer Solstice card this year. Summer Solstice has such beautiful imagery associated with it: the sun, green man, fire, Stonehenge, trees, and fairies. I decided to go with a silhouetted fairy in the sunset (or sunrise!).
Time: 45 minutes + drying time
Using the small rectangular Creative Palette, squirt the 3 Radiant Neon inkers on to it. I was going for a sunrise/sunset look. Roll the colors with a brayer to blend them.
Stamp the Creative Palette on to the Mixed Media Paper. You can make multiple prints. Roll the ink with the brayer to manipulate the colors. You can even roll the brayer directly on to the paper. I made all of these prints with only the amount of ink shown in step 1. You can speed up the drying process with a heat gun, though the inks dry pretty quickly on their own.
Tape down the stencil to your dry palette. Apply VersaMark ink all over the stencil using a sponge dauber. Remove the stencil, sprinkle black embossing powder on top, shake off excess and heat with an embossing gun. (Be sure to wash the stencil to remove the ink.)
Using the VersaMarker, write the sentiment near the top of the print. I practiced in pencil first to be sure I liked my writing and the placement. Apply more black embossing powder. Shake off excess and heat. I also decided to add some lines and leaves which I embossed in the same method as the stencil.
I used an edge distresser to add texture to the print.
Create the card base with black cardstock, cut to 10” x 6 ½” and folded in half. Ink the edges using the Radiant Neon inkpads that are the same colors as the Reinkers. Alternatiely, you can also just apply the ink from your inker with your finger and run it across the edges of the card.
Adhere the print to the card base.
