Grow

“Grow” is something I definitely did a lot of this year. Life often brings a lot of change—some good, some bad—but you have to take it all in stride and that is what I did. I created a card that symbolizes this growth. Come grow with me! I am sharing how you can stamp on canvas with a fun butterfly stencil versus the norm of stamping on paper.

Skill: Beginner
Time: 20 minutes + dry time

Directions

Tutorial

Step 1

Take a sponge dauber and ink it well with Memento Luxe ink in Tuxedo Black. Lay the stencil over the canvas sheet and gently rub the dauber over the various areas. I have chosen to use two different colors of ink to give my butterfly a nice fun look.

Step 2

With Memento Luxe in Bahama Blue rub a dauber gently on the middle of the large butterfly stencil so you get a nice even layer of colors on the canvas sheet. I stenciled in the small butterflies with Bahama Blue and then drew some outlines with a Fabrico Marker in Real Black. This helps it really pop off the canvas. I kept it CAS and used only two colors, but Memento Luxe has a lot of colors available if you wanted a different look.

Step 3

Piece your card together and embellish for desired finished look. I adhered my canvas piece to a black cardstock before adding it to the white card base.
