Holly Jolly

by Martha Lucia Gomez

Handmae Christmas card featuring a vintage stamped image and a candy red embossed mat with the sentiment "holly jolly" by Martha Lucia Gomez.

Christmas is a fun and happy time, and I love to use traditional colors on my cards. I also love embossing powder! I created this striking image border using Candy Red Embossing Powder, which compliments the water-colored vintage image nicely.

Directions

Step 1

Stamp the image using Black Shimmer Delicata Ink on a piece of very vanilla card stock. It’s perfect for this season! Cover the stamped image with Clear Embossing Powder and melt with the heat tool.

Step 2

Color the details of your image using Kaleidacolor inks and Fantastix. Mix the inks with Ink Potion No. 9, and spritz your image to encourage more blending. Crop to the image borders of the paper.

Step 3

Using another piece of very vanilla card stock, create a mat for the painted image. Using VersaMark, ink the four borders of this piece and cover it with Candy Red Embossing Powder. Melt the powder with the heat tool.

Step 4

Adhere the image to the mat with Tear It! Tape, and the mat to the front of your card base. Paste several layers of die cuts in very vanilla together and paste to card base below the image.
