I recently had a ‘new beginning’ when I moved. Being in a new home there are always adjustments to be made—especially crafty ones. My new studio needed a catchy sign on the door to let visitors know a little of what’s going on inside. In the moving process, I discovered supplies that have been hidden from my eyes for years and decided to put them to good use. My steampunk wall hanging could be used as a decoration or a practical place to hang keys, not just these antique ones.

Step 3

Glue 6 ½” by 6 ½” square piece of blue paper on the top portion of the black canvas. Glue an additional panel measuring 6 ½” by 2” to the lower portion of the canvas. Glue the cardboard cardstock, the cup, and the 2” by 6” border paper onto the upper panel. Decorate panel with metal gears, numerals, and beads. On the lower panel attach light bulbs and glass vials filled with coffee beans using a strong adhesive. Adhere the clock key to the top of the canvas and the metal corners using a strong adhesive.
