February is the month love is celebrated and what a better way to celebrate than with a Valentine’s Day shaker card. This dynamic card shows a dandelion spreading its seeds with downy tufts that are captured in a window with a heart and red flitters. Resist effects are used to create a light around the black dandelion to give it more of a pop and work as a watermark for additional dandelion images.

Directions

Step 1

Stamp the front of the card with Lady Bug Memento ink and script stamp.

Step 2

Cut a 4 x 6-inch piece of cardstock and cut or punch open a circle of 2 ¾ in diameter on the right side. Emboss the dandelion stamp with VersaMark and Imagine Embossing Powder in Black.

Step 3

Using the GooseBumps Dauber, stamp around the top of the black embossed flower. Also daub on the dandelion stamp and stamp clear GooseBumps onto your paper in various places.

Step 4

Use a  Jumbo Dauber to spread Lady Bug Memento and distress the edges with Tuxedo Black Memento.

Step 5

Color the wood heart with Lady Bug Memento ink.

Step 6

Mix some metallic beads and red flitters into the shake piece. Place the heart on the card, the mix of beads and cover with the shaker card front. Secure with the dandelion cardstock. Add the finishing touch — the ribbon and “love” sentiment.
