Spring makes me think of greenery which is a refreshing welcome after the unrelenting brown of winter. For this project, I brought out all of my green inks, glitter, embellishments and sprays. I chose to create my own background paper to make a masterboard for continuity among several cards or ATCs. Hope you enjoy this project as much as I did!
Time: 1 hour
Create a master board using different types of green ink. Start by spraying New Sprout Fireworks through a stencil onto a piece of gessoed 140# watercolor paper randomly around the page. Be sure to leave lots of white space. Dry with a heat tool. Using a large Sponge Dauber, apply layers of inks using different stencils, moving the stencils around the page until the desired effect is achieved. Keep drying each ink along the way with a heat tool.
When the paper is dry, use rubber stamps to add more texture to the page. Using Olympia Green VersaFine ink is lovely on top of all the shades of green.
Cut the master board into 4” x 6” postcard size.
Create the focal point panel. Stamp using the Mona Lisa stamp and Olympia Green VersaFine ink on white cardstock and emboss with Clear Embossing Powder. Mount on a piece of black cardstock and use Memento markers or a water brush containing a small amount of Green Sprout Fireworks to lightly color in her features and hair.
Mount the green panel on a blank white card measuring 5” x 7”, and adhere the Mona panel onto the green paper. Stamp the word at the bottom of the card using Olympia Green VersaFine ink. Heat emboss. Color the flowers with Fireworks Spray. Attach the flowers. Apply small amounts of On Point Glue on the petals of the flowers and sprinkle with glitter. Adhere sequins randomly on the card.
