Spring is a time for renewal. Flowers are blooming and the air is warming causing our senses and our hearts to warm as well! In today’s post, we have three handmade greeting cards from our Artists in Residence. Kyriakos Pachadiroglou creates vibrant hearts and raindrops imagery on a “Drops of Love” card. Neva Cole also brings vivid colors forward with a hot air balloon theme and Alison Heikkila brings us more love with a cute punk rock girl greeting card.

Touch is one of the senses that allows people to understand things. A card sharing love with braille created with StazOn Studio Glaze, GooseBumps and Amplify can share the message. I took time here to create this card with braille to expand the idea of handmade cardmaking to those who may be visually impaired.
I started with cardstock and used GooseBumps and irRESISTibles to make rain drops as the first round of texture. I let them dry well then colored with Bahama Blue Memento and created more texture with Shimmer Creative Medium. I stamped and embossed the white circles to add another bit of dimension. Then I attached wooden hearts, drew clouds around the hearts with White Amplify! and heated to activate the puffy texture. The small braille section is a 2 ¾ x 1 ⅕ inch card. I colored the card with Lady Bug Memento and formed the dot message of braille code with Jet Black StazOn Studio Glaze. With another 2 ¾ x ½ inch card, I color distressed with Bahama Blue Memento and wrote the message with Morocco irRESISTible Pico embellisher which is perfect for lettering. To finish, I arranged all the pieces by gluing the cards on a larger main card and embellished with the little hearts.

Glittery Sending Happy Wishes by Neva Cole
Love the look of glitter, but not the possible mess it might make for the recipient of a glittery card? The perfect answer is to use On Point Glue to apply the glitter on the reverse side of an acetate sheet. This fun card is created with StazOn ink stamped on one side of the acetate sheet and colored with StazOn Studio Glaze and glitter on the reverse. The fine tip of the On Point Glue allows great precision for applying in tiny spots.

Hello Greeting Card by Alison Heikkila
I wanted to use a creepy-cool stamp from Stampotique called Minky Girl and was inspired by her polka-dot skirt and the heart on her shirt. I found a red sequin heart that fit over the one on her shirt perfectly and thought it would make a great card! I wanted to show that On Point Glue can be used for different things, so I decided to write “hello” in pencil, then rewrote it with the glue. Next, I added glitter. Since I wanted her polka-dots to really stand out, I filled them in with the On Point Glue and shook on some more micro glitter. It takes a few minutes to dry (which is great in case you need to move things around with other techniques). After it dried thoroughly, I brushed off any remaining excess glitter, then added it to my black card base.
