Make a Lapis Blue Butterfly Handmade Card

by Jowilna Nolte

You always Brighten My Day Greeting Card
Brighten someone’s day with a gorgeous Lapis blue butterfly card featuring Fireworks Shimmery Craft Spray and Memento Luxe. With the shimmer, lush blue pigment ink, dimension and texture on this card, you will spread joy around like a beautiful butterfly. Be inspired and inspire others with this gorgeous color and the thoughtfulness of a handmade encouragement card.

Step 1

Mist a piece of smooth white cardstock with Danube Blue Fireworks Shimmer Spray. Lightly mist with water and then dry using a heat gun. Dip repeatedly in between drying to create the splattered look.

Step 2

Open up an embossing folder and ink the top half with Memento Luxe Danube Blue ink.

Step 3

Place the inked white cardstock inside the embossing folder with colored side facing up and close the folder.

Step 4

Run the embossing folder through your embossing machine. Remove the folder and then remove the embossed cardstock.

Step 5

Use a jumbo dauber and the same Memento Luxe ink to chalk around the edges of the embossed piece. This will highlight the dimension of the beautiful embossing.

Step 6

Use your Fireworks spray to add additional splats onto the embossed piece. Trim the piece smaller to fit onto your 4×6” folded card front.  Trim butterfly from patterned paper, ink the edges in blue Memento Luxe and adhere to your card. Add a sentiment sticker and staple in place.
