Today’s projects on the Imagine Blog merge two ideas – scrapbooking travels to a beautiful city and looking beautiful while you are traveling to that beautiful city. Wherever you are on the journey either headed to or returning from, we gotcha covered. Elina Stromberg layers watercolor paper with Fireworks Craft Spray, black card stock and photos for a gorgeous scrapbook layout. And Kyriakos creates custom jewelry from SHEET Metal and DCWV decorative paper!
Imagine’s theme this month is ‘The Bigger the Better’ which reminded me of a lovely vacation I took two years ago in New York City. I have lots of pictures from New York, but this time I decided to create a single photo layout in a different style. The top of the page is a heavy watercolor paper on which I played with blue and pink Fireworks Craft Sprays and white acrylic paint, creating a feeling of the NYC evening sky. The bottom part of the page is black cardstock and I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the city skyline. For gluing down the detailed skyscraper silhouettes, I used Imagine’s On Point Glue which was perfect for gluing down detailed paper cuts.
I had large chipboard letters in my stash and I decided to use them for creating a layered page title. I first printed the photo on a strip of white vellum, then re-printed the identical image on glossy photo paper. I painted the edges of the letters with black acrylic paint, and once dry I attached the chipboard letters on the back of the photo with double-sided tape, and cut out. The letters are placed down on identical spots on the vellum print and glued with On Point Glue. This layout can be repeated for any city or favorite vacation spot!

Golden jewelry is now less expensive than ever with Golds Special Materials papers from DCWV! Turn simple shapes of SHEET metal from Imagine into impressive pieces of golden jewelry that can trick your eyes to believe it is real gold. The paper is glued on the diamond shapes and covered at the back with Imagine embossing powder to turn the silver color into gold. GlazOn protects the surface of the papers while keeping their golden shine. This design was quick and easy, but you can continue to play with different shapes and ideas to make the design your own especially if you are designing for a specific occasion or event.
