See How to Make a Gold Embossed Summertime Tag

Layered embossing creates a soft magical effect for this bright and beautiful summertime tag. Celebrate summer in gorgeous shades of Tangerine and Lime – perfect for drinks on the beach, party decor, or gift giving. Create the mood of long, endless lazy days with this style!

I wanted the final results to look lush and shiny, so I started with a manilla tag and inked in up with Memento Luxe Morocco and Radiant Neon Electric Orange. These color are great together. While the ink was still wet, I cover it immediately with a layer of embossing powder and heat set until fully melted. Next, I die cut feathers out of white cardstock embossed the tips using VersaMark ink and Imagine’s Gold Embossing Powder. Once the gold embossing powder has cooled down, I covered the embossed portion with another layer of VersaMark ink, repeated the embossing process. Embossing paper twice will remelt the dried embossed layer beneath. The results will be smoother and more intense than one application. For the rest of the project, I colored the feathers using Memento Luxe and Radiant Neon inks with Fantastix tool then brayered with KaleidaColor. Since this double emboss technique is so addictive, I repeated the process for the rest of the feathers too. Once you get a nice rhythm going, although seemingly time consuming, it is over in a flash and you may find the need to make more of these cute little tags!
