Brighten Someone’s Day with a Teal Greeting Card

Young At Heart by Elina Stromberg

Our August theme color is ‘Teal’. That blue-green, dark turquoise color is not often seen in my projects, but I wanted to challenge myself and gave it a go. That bold color proved to be a perfect choice for my grungy critter card project, and I loved the cool weather-worn look so much that I made a matching ATC, too. I stamped the large colored area two times, first with Turquoise Gem VersaMagic, and then adding a hint of Brilliance Pearlescent Ivy on top. I did not clean the stamp in between, allowing the colors to mix on the stamp. The rich, creamy VersaMagic inks go really a long way. So for getting the last remains of the color of the stamp, I misted the stamp gently with water before pressing it on the paper. The end result looks so cool!

Teal Love Birds

Lovebirds in Teal Zeal by Roni Johnson

The color of the month is Teal here at Imagine which brings to mind the beautiful twilight moments right before the sun starts to set. The birds have settled in the trees and all of the hustle and bustle of the day has subsided. This imagery makes me yearn for a home near a lake.

The background for the card was created by spritzing Danube Blue and Bamboo Leaves Fireworks Spray over wet irRESISTible Texture Medium. The cardstock was tilted in various directions to coat the entire piece of cardstock. The second (lighter colored) piece of cardstock was used to pick up the excess medium from the spray box with a bit more Texture Medium flicked over top. The main image on the card was made using a die-cut masking paper circle and Memento Teal Zeal ink was then sponged over the entire piece. The mask was then removed and the main image was stamped over top again using Memento Teal Zeal. On Point Glue was spread over the exposed sun and extra fine clear glitter was sprinkled on top and finishing touches were added.
