Color of the Month is Rose Gold

Color of the Month for September is Rose Gold

We are happy to announce 6 new Delicata colors in September. While we were tempted to have all 6 colors be our color challenge this month, we decided to focus specifically on Rose Gold. This beautiful metallic hue wavers between Copper and Pink and is a wonderful addition to the Delicata ink line. We hope everyone is as excited about Rose Gold as we are and will stay tuned for the month of September to be filled with gorgeous projects.

Delicata Rose Gold Gratitude Card by Mischelle Smith

This month, Rose Gold is the Imagine Color of the Month. This luscious, feminine color is the perfect companion to these beautiful blooms. This simple “Thanks” card is an easy project and is a wonderful option for so many occasions.

I created this distressed look on the card panel with an old book page. I wanted a vintage look so I used tape to remove book text to create a worn look. Then I stamped the floral images in Delicata Rose Gold and used a Jumbo Dauber to ink around the edges of the card and flowers. To create a bit of contrast I cut out the “Thanks” sentiment, attached it to Rose Gold glitter paper and attached to the card. Super easy and enjoyable to make!

You Make My Heart Smile in Rose Gold by Alison Heikkila

I have always loved rose gold. In fact, my wedding rings are rose gold and I have other rose gold jewelry. For a woman that’s not a huge fan of pink, I find rose gold warm, comforting and beautiful.

I started off by stenciling with the Pop Rectangles stencil to a piece of Mixed Media paper with Delicata Rose Gold ink. I went a little heavy with ink and used my heat tool to quickly dry the ink. Then, I placed my sentiment on to the paper. Then I picked up only the “You Make My Heart” with an acrylic block, and inked up those words with Dark Brown Shimmer. After stamping and heat setting them, I picked up the “smile” and inked it up with VersaMark ink, as I knew I wanted to emboss it. I embossed it with Gold powder and then decided to also ink and emboss the edges of this layer.

I cut my card base out of brown cardstock. I pressed the Rose Gold Delicata ink into the edges to get a sponged, glimmery look. Delicata stands out beautifully on dark paper, which is one reason why I went with the brown cardstock. I glued my stenciled layer to my card base and added a few dots Irresistibles Pico Embellisher in Shimmer. Look at all of that shimmer! I love working with the new Delicata inks. They are so rich and beautiful. Thank you for stopping by and have an inspiring day!

Happy Birthday in Rose Gold by Elina Stromberg

Creating beautiful cards does not necessarily require having lots of different special tools. Of course, crafting tools are handy and make many project steps easier. But sometimes, even if you are surrounded with all the latest crafting gadgets, it’s nice to go back to the basics and create something beautiful using just the simplest supplies. This card design is super easy to make, and the result looks beautiful. Kids will learn the decoration technique in a flash, so maybe these cards will be the theme for your next creative family afternoon together?

Fold a piece of paper in half and draw half of the heart on one side, making sure that the inside of the heart is in the fold. With the paper folded, cut the half heart shape. Place the heart in the middle of the card front. Using the eraser end of the pencil and Delicata Rose Gold ink, stamp tiny circles around the heart mask. Decorate the card with stitches: Place the heart shaped stencil on the card front, punch stitch marks around the heart. Sew with straight stitches, using pink embroidery yarn. Once you have finished the stitching, then you can place your own personalized sentiment in the center of the heart. I choose a simple Happy Birthday die, but other positive sentiments would be a nice compliment to this beautiful color scheme.
