Aubergine Blossom Thanks Card by Martha Lucia Gomez
I love to use different inks to create textures with them and this month our color challenge gave me this opportunity. I made a blossom card using Memento Luxe Ink and coloring two elements—wood and tape. To make this card I used a double layered stamping set. I selected the Love Blooms stamp set from Close to My Heart that gives me the opportunity to have a lineal and a textured image at the same time. I stamped first the lineal flowers using the darker color of Memento Luxe. This is a pigment ink that you can emboss if you want and use with many surfaces like cardstock, fabric, shrink or plastic and wood.
After stamping the lineal images with Elderberry Memento Luxe, I stamped the textured detail of each flower using Sweet Plum Memento Luxe. I did not emboss these stamped images, but to speed up the drying process of the ink you can use the heat tool. To decorate one of the borders of this stamped panel, I pasted a strip of Tear It tape. I removed the film from the adhesive and covered the strip with Vintage Plum Embossing Powder and then melted the powder with the heat tool. I resized the layer and pasted directly over a card base created with Elegant Eggplant cardstock.
As a final touch, I took a natural wood sentiment to be added to the card but to make this more special I just sprayed with Lilac Walnut Ink and let dry for a few minutes before pasting it over my card with On Point Glue.

Layered Embossing Happy Birthday Card by Mischelle Smith
The color of the month at Imagine is Aubergine…such a rich and beautiful color. I decided I’d pair this luscious color with gold and create layers of embossing. Layering complementary colors of embossing is quick and easy to create stunning results. For this card, I draw attention to the die-cut detail by adding gold embossing to the die-cut areas. This classy card comes together effortlessly and quickly.
First, create all the flower and butterfly images by stamping and embossing the main layer with the flower stamp using Sweet Plum Memento Luxe. Next, die-cut the main layer with a mixed media style die as desired. Apply VersaMark ink using direct-to-paper technique and emboss with gold embossing powder. This is the main attractive element of this card. It truly makes a difference. Finish the card by cutting complimentary patterned paper to the size of the main layer and attach to card base with foam tape. Stamp a “Happy Birthday” sentiment on a tag and emboss with gold powder. Add the butterfly and additional embellishments such as gold metallic thread, ribbon and sequins.
