Sparkly Winter Window Greetings

I long for a white Christmas again, but in the meantime I am creating some beautiful snow themed projects using the exquisite new Delicata Sapphire Blue ink. I love how the blue and silver compliment the soft snowflake theme inside the window. It has certainly become one of my most favorite new ink colors—perfect for all my blue needs.

Skill: Intermediate
Time: 45 minutes

Directions

Window shaped thin metal die and cardstock.

Step 1

Use a die-cut and cut a window out of smooth white cardstock. I use washi tape to secure the parts in place and make sure they cut where I want the window to be.

Step 2

Use Delicata Sapphire Blue with direct to paper technique to ink all around the window. Remember to only apply slight pressure or repeatedly tap the ink onto the cardstock to add color. TIP: Dragging the ink pad may damage your inkpad on sharp corners and edges.

Step 3

Ink the top edge of an embossing folder with Delicata Dark Brown Shimmer and emboss the wood grain onto your inked panel. Blend some Delicata White shimmer around the edges of the panel for some added shine.

Step 4

Build a shaker box with acetate and foam tape and fill with sparkly snowflakes. Adhere card base, shaker and window together.

Step 5

Punch some leaves and adhere it to the front bottom edge of the window. Add a paper strips with a stamped sentiment over the punched leaves to form a plant box look. Finish off card with diamanté and snowflake elements.
