Color of the Month for August is Lavender

The Color of the Month for August is Lavender. We love this soft purple color and with summer in full gear, the lavender is blooming in full. We are reminded of how well this color compliments green leaves and also is the favorite of honey bees. With cardmaking and scrapbooking, lavender is a must-have to express sensitivity and delight! Imagine and Tsukineko offer several products to help achieve this beautiful color. Ink swatches such as Memento in Lulu Lavender, Brilliance in Pearlescent Purple, and All-Purpose Ink in Wisteria are great examples! In the meantime, we have a couple of sneak peeks of this month’s tutorials for you!

Color of the Month for May is Lime!

Color of the Month for May is Lime!

The Color of the Month for May is Lime. We are excited about this color challenge because we have a couple of bright green color swatches in the Tsukineko brands such as VersaFine Clair in Verdant, Brilliance in Pearlescent Lime, and All-Purpose Ink in Green Apple that are wonderful inks for your crafting projects. We think this Lime color is a fresh color to bring in the summer vibes. Create craft projects with floral images, picnic and food images or elements in a simple scrapbook layout.

Another fun feature of the Month of May is Project Swap! We wanted to do a different kind of art challenge and for this month. We matched up two of our artists and had them switch tutorials and create each other’s work or ideas. It has been a real treat to see the fun interaction between our team members and we are excited to publish the results.

Here is a sneak peek of a Couple of Swapped Projects!

Another event to look forward to in May is a Blog Hop!

We have teamed up with Precious Remembrance Shop for a Blog Hop on May 16th – 17th! So stay tuned for the details!

April Color of the Month is Mango!

Mango is April's Color of the Month 2018

Mango is not only a delicious fruit, it is also a beautiful color! Every month we challenge our Artists in Residence with a couple of different ideas or themes to push them to think outside the box, to try a technique they haven’t tried before and to give flow and continuity to the projects. This month our color is Mango which we consider a soft yellow-orange. We chose it to get us in the mood for summer! This color reminds us of fruit, flowers, the warming sun, and fun-in-the-sun activities. Another challenge we offered to our artists is to use VersaMagic ink. This chalk-like finish makes this ink a delight to work with on almost any crafting project.

Here is a sneak peak for the month of April

Elina Stromberg created this lovely “Hello” greeting card using Memento dye inks in Cantaloupe.

Iris Rodriguez created this “Hello” greeting card with a flowering tree using VersaMagic Mango Madness, Thatched Straw, and Aegean Blue

Roni Johnson created this “Keep on Swimmin” encouragement card using VersaMagic in Mango Madness with some shading using Memento Dual Tip Markers.

Keep an eye on our posts this month to see these and many more tutorials in this fabulous color!

March Color of the Month is Ultraviolet

We are inspired by all the bright and vivid colors in the new VersaFine Clair collection. To kick off Spring the right way, we choose Ultraviolet for our color of the month for March. Ultraviolet is a wonderful sharp purple that works well with light cream colors or a dark night sky colors. We see the use of Ultraviolet in flowers, fabrics, princess dresses, unicorn colors, makeup, the galaxy night sky, and glowing jewels.

Another challenge that we gave to our Artist in Residence for March is Weddings! We love all the cool things that people are doing DIY decor for their weddings and we wanted to add to the inspiration by adding a host of tutorials for the couple’s special day.

Color of the Month for February is Raspberry Red

Color of the Month for February is Raspberry Red

The Color of the Month for February is Raspberry Red! This is a beautiful color that can be found in fashion, crafts, and home decor. We love raspberry red because it has an electric look that occurs from the slight tint of purple in the deep red color. It is not purple, not magenta, not pink and it is not quite red either. We choose this color because of Tsukineko’s exciting and latest release of VersaFine Clair and the gorgeous raspberry-like color called Glamorous. Some other great raspberry colors in the Tsukineko inks are Memento Love Letter, VersaColor Raspberry, and StazOn in Fuchsia Pink so if you have any of these colors on and you are creating projects this month then you may qualify for…

Color of the Month for January is Nocturne!

Nocturne is Imagine's color of the month for January 2018.

Everyone has their favorite black ink, which is often a crafter’s most used inkpad. We wanted to inspire our artists (and you) to use that black as a bit more than just an outline and make a statement with it! It inspires images of the night sky, little black dresses, and the timeless look of black and white photography!

We wanted to give a preview to some of the projects that took on this challenge. You will see tutorials or videos for all of these projects by the end of the month.

Jennifer Vanderbeek also thought of a little black dress when she created this adorable girls-night-out themed card:

Arjita Sepaha Singh left these outline images un-colored for a really lovely affect that highlights the beautiful background she will show you how to create:

Kyriakos Pachadiroglou creates more beautiful jewelry – showing how easily you can make your own paper beads:

And Roni Johnson will remind you that Nocturne can be used to great affect in Valentines too!
