Complete Easy DCWV Papercrafting with Elegance

In the month of April, we challenged our artist with using DCWV paper in their projects. The challenge is specific to our Artists in Residence, whereas the color of the month is open to everyone. In today’s blog post we are sharing two projects from Tenia Nelson and Renee Zarate. Both artists use paper choice and metallic embossing powders to create elegant designs.

Gold Stripes and Roses Card by Tenia Nelson

I started this card with plain white cardstock then attached gold striped DCWV patterned paper onto the front. I choose an ornate and decorative rose stamp, inked with VersaMark and heat embossed onto dark wine or maroon color DCWV cardstock. I cut out the sentiment “You are beautiful and Wonderful” and splattered Fireworks Lulu Lavender onto sentiment panel. Then I adhered the rose embossed panel and sentiment panels onto the card base. As finishing detail, I add the polka dot washi tape and sticker stitches.

Thinking of You Card by Renee Zarate

Do you have a Fashionista in your life? Why not make a fashion forward card for them? DCWV papers are beautifully coordinated in different pastel patterns along with the solid coordinating paper. This takes all the guess work out as to which papers go with others. This particular grouping of papers is called Peri & Peach with Brights Textured. It can be soft and feminine if you choose one side. Flip the paper over and there are other dramatic paper patterns to mix and match. Your choice!
