Layered Snowflake Card

A multi-layered handmade card featuring a lot of sparlke and shine via Imagine's Iredescent Embossing Powder and Ultimate Metallic inks made by Neva Cole.

Winter means snowflakes, and I couldn’t resist making this sparkly card with a multitude of fun Imagine products. A few snowflakes are peeking through the snowflake embossed vellum layer that adds an extra dimension to this sparkly holiday card.

Directions

Step 1

Pressure emboss a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of vellum with an embossing folder.

Step 2

Gently rub VersaMark Dazzle over the surface and sprinkle with Embossing Powder in Iridescent. Heat emboss.

Step 3

Stamp snowflake images in Versa Magic Cloud White on a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of white cardstock and sprinkle with Embossing Powder in Iridescent. Heat emboss.

Step 4

Use an InkBlusher to apply Encore! Ultimate Metallic Ink in Purple. Use a paper towel to buff the ink off of the embossed snowflakes to let the images pop.

Step 5

Adhere vellum piece to the front of the purple panel with wet paper adhesive. Smooth vellum layer and set aside to dry.

Step 6

Cut two pieces of white cardstock, one to 5” x 7” and the other to 4 ½” x 6 ¾”. Score the 5 x 7 piece at 6 ¾”.

Step 7

Punch the short edge that isn’t scored with the Snowflake punch set, including the corner piece.

Step 8

Trim excess 1/8” inch from each side of the card front above the large corner snowflakes. Fold at the score. This is your card front.

Step 9

Adhere to card front panel to the other piece with the seam on the outside of the card. You now have a vertical folded card base with snowflakes peeking out on the lower front.

Step 10

Mask off the bottom strip on the inside of the card that will show through the snowflake punches with painter’s tape. Ink VersaMark Dazzle across the bottom of the card with an ink blusher. Sprinkle with Embossing Powder in Iridescent and heat emboss.

Step 11

Stamp a sentiment in Encore! Ultimate Metallic in Purple above the snowflake punched border, on the card front.

Step 12

Ink the edges of focal image panel with VersaMark Dazzle. Sprinkle with Embossing Powder in Iridescent and heat emboss. Adhere focal image panel to the front of the card.
