Color of the Month is Peacock Feathers

Color of the Month for March is Peacock Feathers! We love this bright teal color and feel it is the perfect color to kick off the spring season. Not quite green, not quite blue, we really feel teal is in its own color category. Along with this beautiful color hitting your eyes all month long, we are featuring a whole new ink line to be announced this Tuesday, March 5th, 2019. So stay tuned for that super fun announcement!

In the meantime, we have a couple of inkpad brands to recommend to add to your teal collection. Try VersaFine Clair in Warm Breeze. It is a beautiful solid stamping ink and will look great for block printing or large surface coverage. If you need a beautiful ink for blending try VersaMagic in Turquoise Gem. The heavy pigment load and long open time are perfect for blending across a background. If you enjoy working with fabric projects then try the Fabrico Marker in Tropical Lagoon.

We hope you try some of these inks, in the meantime here are some sneak peeks for March

Color of the Month for February is Raspberry Red

Color of the Month for February is Raspberry Red

The Color of the Month for February is Raspberry Red! This is a beautiful color that can be found in fashion, crafts, and home decor. We love raspberry red because it has an electric look that occurs from the slight tint of purple in the deep red color. It is not purple, not magenta, not pink and it is not quite red either. We choose this color because of Tsukineko’s exciting and latest release of VersaFine Clair and the gorgeous raspberry-like color called Glamorous. Some other great raspberry colors in the Tsukineko inks are Memento Love Letter, VersaColor Raspberry, and StazOn in Fuchsia Pink so if you have any of these colors on and you are creating projects this month then you may qualify for…

Happy Summer Wishes by Elina Stromberg

Our beautiful color of the month is Pineapple, or bright and bold yellow. For me, yellow is the color of a happy summer day filled with sunshine, so I decided to create a summery flower card (those you can never have too many of in your stash!). For coloring the background, I used Dandelion and Tangelo Fireworks inks which work really well for watercoloring. Before painting the background, I covered the stamped flowers with masking fluid. Once the Fireworks inks were dry, I added some pattern with yellow irRESISTible Pico Embellisher, and finished decorating the background by stamping random patterns with a darker yellow Memento ink – Cantaloupe. The yellow flower blooms have two layers. I stamped the flowers on a piece of white cardstock, colored with Promarkers, fussy cut, and glued on the background. For decorating the flowers, I used On Point Glue and gold-colored microbeads to give a nice finishing touch to the project. Enjoy!

Layered Peony Memento Ink Tag by Mischelle Smith

When I think of pineapple and yellows – my mind always goes to flowers. I love the flowers of summer. In the small town I live in there are lots of gorgeous flowers during the summer and I’m always so thankful I get to enjoy them. For this project, I wanted to capture those warm, sunny memories in my work while also utilizing the piles of scraps I have growing.

This simple project utilizes scrap pieces of paper. To create the large yellow layered peony, ink each layer of the stamp set with Memento Dandelion for the base, Cantaloupe for the middle stamp and Tangelo for the outline or top layer stamp. To create the layered leaf, two base stamps with Teal Zeal and the final outline stamp with Nautical Blue to give the definition. For the ‘thanks’ die, I simply inked a jumbo dauber with Dandelion ink and shaded until I had achieved desired color and shading. To finish this tag design, embellish with white marker, arrange all the paper elements as desired, attach the gold thread to tag base, mount the stamped pieces on top of gold thread, punch the top with an Crop-a-dile, install eyelet and attach string.

Ray Of Sunshine Handmade Card by Roni Johnson

Pineapple is the color of the month here at Imagine and it was so easy to create this card because they offer up so many fun products in yellow! I decided to create a giant sunburst! But, don’t worry  because you will not need a fancy die-cut or stencil to make this sunburst pattern, just a pencil, ruler and some masking paper.

I started off by cutting a circle from masking paper, removed the backing paper and placed it on a card base. I then drew a dot marking close to the center of the circle and drew lines radiating out from that point. I like to keep the spacing between the lines a bit random for a more free-form look at the end. Here is the fun part! Fill in each segment with whatever your heart desires. I used stamps, stencils, a variety of inks, irRESISTible Texture Spray, Radiant Neon Amplify, sponge daubers, markers and more. The possibilities are endless. Once I was finished with the rays, I removed the circle mask and colored it in using a Fantastix and All-Purpose Inks.
