Clean and simple doesn’t have to be boring. And with the new colors of Delicata, White Shimmer and Black Shimmer, even black and white doesn’t have to be boring! These colors were wonderful to create my inlaid design with heat embossing.

Skill: Intermediate
Time: 30 minuites + dry time

Directions

Step 1

Apply Delicata White Shimmer Ink directly with pad on to white cardstock. Cover with Clear Embossing Powder and melt with the heat tool. Note the texture difference in the regular paper and the embossed paper. An alternate idea is to use the Delicata Ink without embossing. If so, let it dry because it is a pigment ink that takes a few minutes to dry. The ink looks more metallic without embossing, but I liked the shimmery texture with it.

Step 2

Die cut the embossed paper using the Take Flight etched die by Seth Apter from Spellbinders.

Step 3

Repeat steps one and two with Delicata in Black Shimmer. I used a smaller piece of paper as I only needed the center die cut piece.

Step 4

Cut a piece of white cardstock to 4 x 5-1/4″ and send it thru your die cut machine using the Laser Beams Em-bossing Fold’er by Seth Apter from Spellbinders. Spray the embossed piece with Bahama Blue Fireworks (or color of choice).

Step 5

I wanted the white letters of FLY to look seamless, or inlaid, into the circle. I simply used single sided tape on the back of the die cut circle and adhered the white letters in place.

Step 6

Tie two loops of twine around the Fireworks! spritzed piece. Adhere the die cut pieces. I adhered them using foam tape of different thickness to create more dimension.

Step 7

Adhere to your card base. The size of my card is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ closed.
