As a card maker stamps often influence and inspire my designs. Recently, I purchased a hand-carved granny square stamp from Hoffin and a Nuffin that not only inspired me but also brought to mind fond memories from my childhood. My grandma was an original “maker”. She was a seamstress, painter, gardener, artist and loved to knit and crochet as well. I have several granny-square afghans she made for me so I thought it would be fun to make her a Valentine’s Day card incorporating the handcarved craft theme stamp design.

Stamp lock and key designs on the inked cardstock using VersaMark ink. Emboss with black embossing powder. Fussy cut the lock and key stamp. Add Gold irRESISTible Pico Embellisher accents to both the lock and key.

Step 7

Stamp sentiment on vellum paper. Die-cut sentiment and two additional strips of cardstock. Ink one of the banner strips with Golden Glitz Delicata Ink and the second using Silvery Shimmer Delicata Ink.

Step 8

Mount the granny square panel on a black card base; adhere the sentiment, lock, and key to the card.  When you are finished you will have a dynamic looking card that is sure to please!
