See How February Brings the Best Love

imagine's color of the month for February 2017 is Rose

Now that we are settling back into our normal work week after all the fun and excitement of Creativation, we are actually very excited to get back to work with our artists and planning out the year.

To kick off February right we are announcing our color of the month—rose. (In our heads we hear a lot of  oooos from the audience!) We loosely define rose as soft pink. Some soft pinks are so pale they are almost like a flesh-colored beige. Some soft pink tints are brighter like a light magenta. We feel Memento Angel Pink is a nice example of a brighter pink. However you interpret ‘rose’, we hope you find it pleasing and find a new product to try out in this soft, beautiful hue!

Our Artists in Residence at Imagine jumped on board with rose and have produced beautiful work honoring this timeless color. We wanted to share just a few of the great rose projects to kick of a month in pink!

Elina Stromberg creates this beautiful card using Memento Angel Pink.

Elina Stromberg colors the light pink background of this card using Angel Pink Memento ink, applying the ink on the textured watercolor paper directly from the ink pad. The circle embellishment is made from a die-cut ring covered by embroidery yarn; making the embellishment will require some patience but the end result is worth the effort. Stamped flowers are colored with Poppy Red All-Purpose Ink. Lighter tints were made with mixing the ink with water. Sentiment text was stamped and heat-embossed on a piece of vellum.

Jowilna Nolte is also a fan of Angel Pink in this ATC Valentine’s Card. Jowilna mixed Fireworks! Angel Pink with Goosebumps Shimmer before it dried to create a shimmer pink resist effect. Goosebumps is perfect for resist effects once it is dry but if you mix ink before it is dry it will receive color well. The ATC cards are perfect to show your loved ones how much you love them.

Roni Johnson started her card with Rose Bud Fireworks! spray then added Iridescent Pink Creative Medium spread through a stencil over the base panel.
