Summer is such a great time to catch up on reading. Sitting in the sun, ice-cold lemonade and your favorite fiction. Today, we have two bookmark projects made with Vertigo craft surfaces that are decorated to be the perfect style match to a summer vacation.
Seaside Themed Bookmarks by Kyriakos Pachadiroglou
Grab your favorite book and plan a seaside get-a-way! With these seaside themed bookmarks, it is the perfect craft project for summer readers. The Vertigo Rattlesnake sheet in combination with blue colors of StazOn give an excellent impression of the reflections of the sea waves. The Vertigo sheets are cut in 2 x 6 inch pieces (one sheet makes 3 bookmarks) and colored with Stazon inkpads using a sponge dauber. When the ink dries, stamp with the seaside stamps and the Imagine’s white embossing powder. Punch a hole and add an eyelet. Place some ribbon and marine charms and the bookmarks are ready.

StazOn & VersaMagic Vertigo Bookmarks by Mischelle Smith
Summertime at our house always includes crafty projects like these incredibly cool Vertigo Bookmarks. Vertigo is a strong, plastic material that has a 3D effect and is contagious. Yes, contagious. Once you start playing with this funky material, you just can’t stop! It comes in 6 x 6 inch sheets which are the perfect size for 3 bookmarks.
Cut Vertigo into 2 x 6 inch pieces. Round all four corners with a corner rounder. Stamp images using StazOn ink. StazOn is a solvent ink and should dry easily on its own. Color images using ‘direct to paper’ technique with VersaMagic and use stamp pads to color images. VersaMagic is a pigment chalk ink and will not dry as quickly so be sure to heat set colors as you work. To help with drying, layer one color at a time, dry in between each color and continue to add color until satisfied. Gently heat set color to set. Punch a hole, add eyelet and ribbon.
