Learn How to Layer Different Elements to Create a Beautiful Card Layout

In today’s tutorial, I will be using the Waffle Flower doily circle die both as a stencil and as die to make a “Smile” card in amethyst’s colors. Add the dolly and the smile stamps, both embossed with Mboss embossing powders, on foam tape in different levels to add dimension to the card. To match the color, natural stones are placed between card levels.

Skill: Intermediate
Time: 1 hour

Directions

Step 1

Cut a dolly shape with the Waffle flower die. Keep the card stock piece too from which you cut the doily (a frame-like piece of paper now).

Step 2

Place the Waffle flower dolly die on a 4 x 6-inch card stock. Spray with the Fireworks Lulu lavender around the die. Remove the die and let it dry or speed up the process with a heat tool.

Step 3

Take the frame as a piece of paper, place it on the colored one, covering the color parts and by using a sponge dauber and the VersaColor Grape ink pad color close to the frame edges.

Step 4

Stamp a piece of card stock with the dolly stamp and the VersaMark watermark ink pad, cover with the Mboss Princess party embossing powder and heat set. Cut around the stamp.

Step 5

Glue the doily die cut and remove the excess of it on the colored card stock.

Step 6

Place Tear It Tape on the back and set on a 5 x 7-inch card base. Add two layers of foam tape on the back of the stamped dolly and set.

Step 7

Stamp the “Smile” text with the VersaMark watermark ink pad, cover with Mboss Embossing Powder in Black and heat set.

Step 8

Place foam tape on the “Smile” stamped image and set on the card. Add natural jewelry stones with a hot glue gun and small silver beads with the On Point Glue. Decorate further with the irRESISTible Pico embellisher – Grape jelly by adding small dots.
