Design A Fall Mixed Media Tag

Hello crafty friends! The change of season is here and we can see how changes can bring some beautiful colors to our life. Today, I would like to share my Fall Mixed Media Tag.

Skill: Intermediate
Time: 15-20 minutes

Direction:

Step 1
Cut out a piece of cold-press watercolor paper for the Fall theme stamps..
Stamp the images with VersaFine Onyx Black ink pad using a stamping tool.
Option, you can stamp a couple times to get crisper stamped images result on a watercolor paper.

Step 2
Memento inks (Full size and Dew Drop) are great for watercoloring! Simply add some of the Memento Dew Drop inks (Lady Bug, Cantaloupe, Tangelo, Rich Cocoa) on the craft mat.
Use a water brush to pick up the pigment and color the flower.
After coloring the image, use a craft heat gun to dry the watercolor inks.
Cut the image using micro-tip scissors.

Step 3
Cut out another piece of the cold press watercolor paper.
Add more of the Memento inks by dabbing the Memento Dew Drop on the craft mat.
Spray lightly with some water and then smoosh the watercolor paper to the inks on the craft mat to create the watercolor wash background.
You can repeat this step a couple times to get the colored background you like.

Step 4
Dry the watercolor background panel with a craft heat gun.
Cut it out with a tag die. Or, If you do not have any tag die, you can trace any packing tag to it and cut it with scissors.

Step 5
Add some of the Memento Rch Cocoa ink around the edge of the tag with a sponge dauber for extra shadow and distress look.
And then, add some of the Delicata Golden Glitz randomly around the edge of the tag with a sponge dauber for some extra shine to it.
Dry the ink on the tag with a craft heat gun.

Step 6
Add some of the anti-static powder to the whole tag.
Using a stamping tool, stamp the sentiment on the tag using the VersaFine Clair Pinecone ink pad.
Right away while the ink is still wet, add some of the Mboss Sprakle embossing powder to the tag and heat set it with a craft heat gun.
Gently wipe off the anti-static powder of the tag using a paper towel after the embossed sentiment cool off.

Step 7
Add some texture to the tag by stamping some patterns using the background texture stamps and VersaFine Clair Morning Mist.
To get the uneven look on the background, stamp the image using your hand directly and not a stamping acrylic block.

Step 8
Add some of the glue from On Point Glue to the half of the back of the watercolor flower and add it to the tag.
Add a couple of acrylic stamping blocks on the flower for a couple minutes until the glue dried permanently.

Step 9
This last step is an option. But I decided to add some extra sparkle to this Fall tag.
Use a flat small brush to add some splatters of the Sparkle – Sheer Shimmer Craft Spray to the tag and then use a craft heat gun to dry it completely.

I love how this Fall mixed media tag turned out. The Fall colors plus some gold and sparkle to it makes me happy to look at it. It is now a new addition to my tag ring collection.

Life Begins After Coffee Card

In today’s post, I made a card featuring earthy colors.

Skill: Intermediate
Time: 1.5 hours

Directions:

Step 1:
Stamp the top part of the main stamped image onto a piece of masking paper with Nocturne
VersaFine Clair ink. (If you don’t have masking paper, you can use a sticky note.)
Cut out the coffee (or the inside part of the coffee cup) of the masking paper and place it onto a
piece of watercolor paper over the corresponding part of the waterpaper.

Step 2:
Stamp the coffee cup image onto the watercolor paper with Nocturne VersaFine Clair ink,
making sure that the masking paper covered up the coffee in the cup.
(Optional step: Heat emboss with clear embossing powder.)

Step 3:
Remove the masking paper. Stamp the coffee in the cup with Acorn VersaFine Clair ink. (I
chose to mask the cup with the remaining masked paper before stamping.)
(Optional step: Heat emboss the coffee with more clear embossing powder.)

Step 4:
Spray Lilac Posies Fireworks! Shimmery Craft Spray onto a piece of acetate packaging and use
the spray to watercolor the stamped flowers surrounding the coffee cup. Repeat the process
with New Sprout Fireworks! Shimmery Craft Spray to paint the leaves.
Repeat the process one more time with Rose Gold Sheer Shimmer Craft Spray to paint the cup
and saucer.

Step 4.5:
Die cut the coffee cup with the corresponding die.
(Sorry that the pictures got messed up and you couldn’t see the pink shimmer paint from the
Rose Gold Sheer Shimmer Craft Spray or die cutting the cup. My camera was glitchy. You will
see the rosy pink shimmer in the next few steps.)

Step 5:
Die cut a piece of black watercolor paper (or black cardstock) for the matte layer of the card.

Step 6:
Spray Lilac Posies Fireworks! Shimmery Craft Spray and Rose Gold Sheer Shimmer Craft
Spray into an embossing folder and emboss a previously die cut watercolor panel. After
removing the watercolor panel, spray more Rose Gold Sheer Shimmer Craft Spray around the
panel and then allow the panel to dry.

Step 7:
Using a sponge dauber, ink blend the edges of the sprayed and embossed panel with Morning
Mist VersaFine Clair ink.

Step 8:
Stamp a sentiment on a piece of watercolor paper with Nocturne VersaFine Clair ink. Trim the
edges with your paper trimmer.
(Optional step: Heat emboss with clear Mboss embossing powder.)
Then press the edges of the sentiment into the Nocturne VersaFine Clair ink to create a border.

Step 9:
I decided that I wanted to change the color of the border, so pressed the edges of the sentiment
into the Morning Mist VersaFine Clair ink pad.
(Optional step: Heat emboss with more clear embossing powder.)

Step 10:
Glue the two panels together. Glue the coffee cup onto the pink watercolor panel. Attach a piece
of black and white washi tape just a little bit smaller than the sentiment strip and then glue down
the sentiment strip.

Step 11:
Glue sequins on the lower left and upper right corners of the card.

Step 12:
Finish the care by gluing the matte layer to an A2-sized white card base.

How to Make A Dramatic Sunset Card

Today I am sharing a card that uses VersaFine Clair inks to create a dramatic sunset. You will need to gather the following supplies to recreate this card. I have them pictured below.

Skill: Advanced
Time: 1 to 1 ½ hours

Directions:

Step 1:
Cut the window die out of black cardstock.

Step 2:
Using the large stamp in the layering stamp set, place it near the bottom of the panel and ink one third of the top portion with Cheerful ink. Next ink the middle portion with Pink VersaColor. The bottom portion should be inked with Charming Pink and Glamorous.  The very edge of the stamp should be inked with Purple Delight. I also used a dauber to add purple delight to the bottom of the panel and later went over that with a Copic marker.

The next layer adds more definition to the sea. I inked it up with Pink VersaColor which turns orange when stamped over yellow.

The last layer is to stamp the reflection which I stamped in Cheerful (yellow) ink.

Step 3:
I used a post it note to mask off the bottom portion so I could create the sky. To do this I used a dauber and blended Warm Breeze and Paradise ink and then added a little of the Fantasia ink to the top portion. I placed the panel back in the Misti and stamped the sky using Warm Breeze on the bottom portion of the stamp, Paradise in the middle and Fantasia on the very edge.

Step 4:
Cut out a circle for the sun and ink blend Cheerful at the top, Charming Pink in the middle and Glamorous at the very bottom.

Step 5:
Cut the panel into two pieces in order to layer them on an A2 panel.

Step 6:
Adhere the sky panel to the top of the white A2 panel, add the sun and then add the sea panel so you overlap the sun and sky just a bit. You can see the white portion left in the photo above.

Step 7:
Stamp a sentiment with VersaMark ink and emboss with white Mboss powder and then cut it out with the coordinating die and add to the front of the card.

Celebrate Our Nation Invitation Card

Hello crafty friends!
It’s Ceal here. Each year I have my family over to celebrate July 4th and I send out invitations, this is the invitation for this year, and I am sharing how I made it.

Skill: Intermediate
Time: 30 to 45 minutes

Directions:

You will need to gather the following supplies. Red and blue ink, stamp/stencil set, celebrate word die cut, VersaMark ink Hologram MBoss embossing powder.

Step 1:
Prepare the paper by using a anti-static tool, then ink up the background stamp (fireworks background used here)with VersaMark ink and stamp on panel.

Step 2:
Cover the panel with Hologram Mboss embossing powder and melt with heat tool.

Step 3:
Using a large dauber along with the stencil color the layers in red and blue,
I used red for layer 1 and blue for layer 2.

Step 4:
Cut out the word celebrate, cover with VersaMark ink using the pad directly to the word, or a sponge dauber.

Step 5:
Cover the celebrate die with Mboss Hologram embossing powder and melt with heat gun.

Make a Fourth of July Card with Colorful Heat Embossing

Hi everyone! Are you ready to celebrate the Fourth of July? I made a sparkly, light-up card to celebrate the occasion. It’s been a while since I heat embossed with colorful embossing powders and I truly miss this simple and fun technique. Be sure to check out the supply list at the end to see the colors I used!

Skill Level: Advanced
Time: 1 hour

Step 1:
Stamp one image from MFT’s Festive Fireworks set with VersaMark ink pad. Then pour on embossing powder with the color of your choice. Repeat the steps if you would like to use different colors of embossing powders, making sure to heat set the powder before moving on to the next color. The colors I used today are Mboss – Valentine, Lucky Stars, Princess Party, and Shimmering Night Sky (not pictured here).

Step 2:
Use Brilliance – Galaxy Gold ink pad to stamp the layering images. I used a stamp positioning tool so that I could restamp a couple of times and get good ink coverage. The gold stamped images look so well against the black background, don’t you think?

Step 3:
I decided to add interactive elements to make this card even more festive! I used Chibitronics LED light stickers to create the light up circuit. Step 4:
For some finishing touches, I splattered some Sheer Shimmer Craft Spray to the background. I used the brush-over-acrylic-block flicking method, but you could use the spray nozzle to add a fine mist of shimmer as well. Then I adhered some sequins with On-Point Glue, and that completes the card!

Let’s Make A Summer Wedding Card

Let’s make a summer wedding card with Memento and Golden Glitz Delicata Inks!

Skill Level: Intermediate
Time: 1.5 hours

Instructions:

Step 1:
Use a stamping platform and VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink to stamp the Arty Hearts Collage Cling Stamp onto white cardstock.

Step 2:
Use a stamping platform and VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink to stamp the wedding rings from the Accessorize Clear Stamp Set twice — once onto 140 lb. Mixed Media Cardstock and once onto repositionable label paper.

Step 3:
Apply Clear MBoss Powder to the stamped image, dump the excess back into the packet, and heat set the image.

Step 4:
Add a few drops of Golden Glitz Delicata Ink to a small container. Dilute with a few drops of water.

Step 5:
Use a brush to paint the wedding rings with diluted Golden Glitz Delicata ink. Set aside.

Step 6:
Place the Arty Hearts Stencil over the image stamped in Step 1. Use Sponge Daubers to apply Angel Pink, Rose Bud, Summer Sky, Danube Blue, Lulu Lavender, Lilac Posies, Dandelion, and Tangelo Memento through the stencil onto the stamped hearts on the image panel. Set aside.

Steps 7A and 7B:
Smoosh Summer Sky Memento Ink onto a piece of acetate packaging. Mist the acetate with 91% Isopropyl Alcohol, then smoosh onto the right side of a piece of white cardstock.

Clean the acetate, then repeat this process using Angel Pink, Rose Bud, Danube Blue, and Dandelion Memento Inks until you’re happy with the ink coverage on the panel.

Safety Note: Please be sure to have good ventilation via an open window to minimize your exposure to alcohol fumes.

Step 8:
Fussy-cut the sticker paper version of the Wedding Rings from Step 2. Place atop the image. Use low-tack tape to secure the small rectangle die from the Specimen Thinlits Die Set onto the image panel. Run the die through your cutting machine.

Step 9:
Keeping the image panel in the die, use a Sponge Dauber to apply Angel Pink Memento Ink over the die onto the die-cut, which will leave a thin white border around the pink

Step 10:
Place the die-cut onto the base of a stamping platform. Ink the “Congratulations” stamp from the More Classic Sentiments Clear Stamp Set with Nocturne VersaFine Clair and stamp. Re-ink and stamp again if necessary to attain a good impression.

Step 11:
Adhere the heart-stamped and stenciled panel (Steps 1 and 6) onto the left side of the smooshed ink panel (Step 7). Add a foil border sticker to cover the seam.

Use a Sponge Dauber to edge the heart image panel and the rings/sentiment die-cut with Golden Glitz Delicata Ink.

Step 12:
Use Tear It! Tape to adhere the card front to a white A2 card.
