Let’s Make a Coffee Themed Card

As a coffee addict, I love making coffee-themed cards. I had fun using Memento markers and Fireworks! Sprays to help color the coffee cups and the background. 

Skill: Intermediate 
Time: 2 hours (including dry time) 

Directions: 

Step 1: 
Stamp both coffee cups onto a piece of watercolor paper with Nocturne VersaFine Clair ink. Heat emboss them with clear embossing powder. 

Step 2: 
Use Champagne Delicata Ink to add color to the project. 

First, use Champagne Delicata Ink to stamp a larger watercolor panel with a background stamp. Heat emboss the Champagne Delicata Ink with clear embossing powder. 

Then, press the Champagne Delicata Ink onto a piece of clear acetate and spray the acetate with water to liquify the ink. Use the shimmery watercolor to paint the lid of the taller (portable) cup as well as the cup and saucer of the smaller cup. 

Step 3: 
Color in the two stamped images with a variety of Memento and Fabrico Markers. 

● The orange flowers on the taller (portable) cup and mug: Color the outside petals with Tangelo Memento Dual Marker. Then scribble some Rose Bud Memento Dual Marker on acetate and spray with water. Use the pink watercolor to paint the whole flower (including the outer petals which were already colored). 

● The central pink flower on the mug: Color the outer petals with Rose Bud Memento Dual Marker. Then watercolor the center of the flower with more of the pink watercolor used to color the orange flowers (created by mixing water with Rose Bud Memento Dual Marker. 

● Leaves: Color the leaves on both images with Emerald Fabrico Dual Marker. 

● Portable (taller) cup and the mug’s rim: Scribble Lilac Posies Memento Dual Marker on acetate. Then press Champagne Delicata Pigment Ink onto the acetate next to the 

marker. Spray both with water and mix the three to create a shiny light purple color and paint the cup. Then paint the decorative rim of the mug. 

● Sleeve: Scribble Pistachio and Desert Sand Memento Dual Marker onto a different part of the acetate and spray with water. Mix the two colors together and mix with more of the Champagne Delicata Pigment Ink mixed with water. Watercolor the sleeve with the resulting mixture. 

● Coffee in the smaller mug: Scribble Potter’s Clay Memento Dual Marker on the same acetate and spray with water. Mix with more of the Champagne Delicata Ink and paint the coffee in the cup with the mixture. 

Once everything dried, die cut both images with their corresponding dies. 

Step 4: 
Spray the watercolor panel, starting with Potter’s Clay Fireworks! Craft Spray over the majority of the upper half of the panel. While the spray is still wet, lightly spray the panel with Rich Cocoa Fireworks! Craft Spray. Use a paper towel to dab off unwanted spray. Then spray Lilac Posies Fireworks! Craft Spray on isolated areas of the panel. Prop the panel vertically while it dries so some of the spray drips down the panel. Allow to dry. 

Step 5: 
Scribble Lilac Posies Memento Dual Marker on the acetate. Press Champagne Delicata Ink onto the acetate and spray with water again. Mix the two together and watercolor one more time 

on the space in between the body and the handle of the cup so that it more closely matches the background panel. Allow to dry. 

Step 6: 
Stamp the sentiment from the same sentiment as the cups with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink on watercolor paper. Heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Trim the sentiment strip in the paper trimmer. Then press the sentiment strip’s edges into the Champagne Delicata Ink and heat emboss again with clear embossing powder. 

Step 7: 
Die cut a piece of vellum with a mid-sized circle die. Then die cut a piece of black cardstock or black watercolor paper with a die just a little larger than the sprayed background panel. 

Press the edges of the stamped and sprayed background panel into the Champagne Delicata Ink pad and heat emboss with clear embossing powder. 

Assemble the card. Glue the larger (portable) cup onto the right side of the vellum circle. Glue one layer of scrap cardstock onto the right side of the smaller mug and add foam tape behind the left side of the smaller mug. Add glue to the right side of backside of the smaller mug. Then attach the mug to the vellum. The left side of the cup (with the foam tape) directly touches the vellum and the right side of the mug overlaps the taller mug. Add glue on the backside of the 

vellum, making sure to only add glue to the parts of the vellum that will be covered by the two cups. Then add the vellum and cups to the card. Scribble Tuxedo Black Memento Dual Marker onto acetate and spray with water. Cover the cup and vellum with a scrap piece of paper to protect them. Splatter the panel with the Tuxedo Black marker mixed with water and allow to dry. Adhere the sentiment to the panel with foam tape. Glue the whole thing onto the black matte panel. Then glue the whole thing onto an A2-sized card base. To finish the card, glue embellsihments around the coffee cups.

Create a Special Father’s Day Card

– My dad passed away a few years ago, so I didn’t feel like making a traditional Father’s Day card. Instead, I wanted to make a card that reflected his life as a farmer. He grew citrus in central Arizona for over twenty years and citrus trees always remind me of him.

Skill: Intermediate
Time: 2 hours

Directions:

Step 1:
Die cut a piece of watercolor paper with a mid-sized die cut in a nesting A2-sized die set. Then spray the inside of a citrus-themed embossing folder with Eucalyptus colored Walnut Ink Antiquing Solution. Wipe off the Eucalyptus colored Walnut Ink Antiquing Solution off of the lower tangerines and the flowers and tangerine on the upper right corner of the embossing folder. Then place the watercolor paper panel inside the embossing folder before running it through a die cutting machine. Remove the panel from the embossing folder and set aside to dry.

Step 2:
Use a combination of Memento Markers and Fireworks! Shimmery Craft Spray to color in the flowers, tangerines, branches and leaves on the card panel. Starting with the flower petals, I colored the flowers’ outlines with Rose Bud Memento Marker and then watercolored the petals with Lilac Posies Fireworks! Shimmery Craft Spray. The centers of the flowers were colored with Cantaloupe Memento Marker before watercoloring them with Dandelion Fireworks! Shimmery Craft Spray. The leaves were watercolored with Cottage Ivy Fireworks! Shimmery Craft Spray.

The branches were watercolored with Rich Cocoa Memento Marker and the tangerines were watercolored with Tangelo Fireworks! Shimmery Craft Spray. After everything dried, a light watercolor layer of Dandelion Fireworks! Shimmery Craft Spray was painted over the flower petals. Splatter some of the remaining Dandelion, Cottage Ivy, and Tangelo Fireworks!

Shimmer Craft Spray over the panel. Set the panel aside to dry again.

Step 3:
Press edges of the card panel into Celstial Copper Delicata Ink pad and heat emboss the edges with Champagne Mboss Embossing Powder (retired-substitute)

Step 4:
Die cut a piece of brown cardstock with the next-largest die from nesting die set from step 1. Paint the branches with glitter glue. Allow to dry and then glue the two panels together and then glue the whole thing onto an A2-sized white card base.

Step 5:
Stamp the sentiment with Nocturne VersaFine Clair ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Use a sentiment strip die (from the same set as the sentiment itself) to die cut the sentiment.

Step 6:
Press the edges of the sentiment strip into the Celestial Copper Delicata ink pad and heat emboss with more of the Champagne Mboss embossing powder (retired).

Step 7:
To finish the card, attach the sentiment strip onto the card panel with foam tape.

Embrace New Change Art Journal

– Hello crafty friends! The new season always brings something new that can surprise us. And new change brings hope, it can be beautiful. Let us embrace it with expectation. Today, we are going to make an art journal together.

Let’s get crafting!

Skill: Intermediate
Time: 30-45 Minutes

Direction:

Step 1
First step we are going to build the base watercolor background.
Spray randomly each color of the FireWorks! Shimmery Craft Spray.

Step 2
While the spray pains are still kinda wet, spray lightly some water using a sprayer bottle.

Let it sit for a few seconds and then dab off some of the water with a clean dry paper tower. This will create more texture to the background.

Dry the page with a craft heat gun. Make sure the surface is completely dry.

Step 3
Cover the page with some anti-static powder and brush it off the page.

Add the stencil on the page and secure it with a washi tape or low-tack tape.

Add the VersaMark Original ink to the page with finger sponge dauber and remove the stencil off the page.

Add some of the Gold Mboss Embossing Powder and heat set it with a craft heat gun.

Step 4
Randomly on the page, stamp the ledger pattern stamp with VersaFine Clair Morning Mist ink using second generation stamping technique.

And then using the stamping technique and ink, stamp the script pattern stamp on the page.

Dry the stamped images with a craft heat gun.

Step 5
Stamp the leaves branch on the page with VersaFine Clair Avocado ink.

Dry the stamped images with a craft heat gun.

Step 6
Put a piece of white cardstock on the stamping tool and stamp the butterfly stamp with VersaFine Clair Pinecone ink.

Do not remove the stamp and paper.

Clean the ink off the stamp with Staz-On All-Purpose Stamp Cleaner.

Step 7
Stamp the same butterfly stamp with VersaMark Original ink.

Add some of the Sparkle Mboss Embossing Powder to the stamped image and heat set it with a craft heat gun.

Step 8
On a piece of white cardstock, gently swipe the VersaFine Clair Pinecone across the cardstock.

Dry the ink with a craft heat gun.

Cut it with one of the Stitched Tag dies.

Step 9
Add the tag to the page with On Point Glue.

Put the butterfly slightly off the page, and then glue the center of the butterfly with some of the On Point Glue. Leave the wings loose.

Cut the extra wing off the page with micro-tips scissors.

Step 10
Stamp the words on a piece of ivory cardstock with VersaMark Original ink.

Add some of the Gold Mboss Ebossing Powder and then heat set it with a craft heat gun.

Cut them with micro-tip scissors.

Draw lines around the word with Memento Marker Rich Cocoa.

Step 11
Add some of the Tear It! Double Sided Tape to 3D fun foam to create your own 3D foam tape.

Add some of the foam tape to each word and add them to the page.

Add some of the foam tape under the wings also to give them a 3D effect.

Step 12
Dab some of the Memento Luxe Wedding Dress ink on the craft mat and spray it with some water.

Pick up the ink with a small round brush, and add some splatters to the page.

Dry the whole page one more time with a craft heat gun.

This mini mixed media art journal page is done. It has a combination of the shimmery background, sparkly butterfly, and shiny gold metallic embossed texture and sentiment.

Mixed Media Art Journal

Hello crafty friends! Today, I would like to share how to make this mixed media art journal using some inks, craft sprays, embossing powder, and GooseBumps.Let’s get crafting!

Skill: Intermediate
Time: 30-60 minutes

Direction:

Step 1
I used my handmade traveler journal using watercolor papers and mixed media papers. You can use any mixed media journal you have.

Dab some of the VersaMagic Jumbo Java ink on the craft mat and spray with some water.

Smoosh the page (or paper) to the ink and dry it with a craft heat gun. Repeat this step to create the watercolor background.

Step 2
Once the watercolored background dried well, add some of the anti-static powder to the page.

Stamp the script stamp on the page randomly with VersaMark ink and then add some of the Gold Mboss Embossing Powder to the page. Heat set the embossing powder with a craft heat gun.

Step 3
Add the stencil to the page.

Add some of the GooseBumps Original (Dauber Top Bottle) to the page on the stencil randomly all over the page.

The best result is to let the GooseBumps texture spray dry naturally (about 2 hours) but I use a handheld fan to speed up the drying process to a few minutes. My suggestion is not to use a craft heat gun.

Step 4
Once the GooseBumps texture spray dry well, spray the Cottage Ivy Fireworks! Shimmery Craft Spray.

Dry the ink with a craft heat gun. Make sure to move the heat gun around, not stay too long at one spot to avoid melting the GooseBumps.

Step 5
Next, spray the Bamboo Leaves Fireworks! Shimmery Craft Spray.

Dry the ink with a craft heat gun. Make sure to move the heat gun around, not stay too long at one spot to avoid melting the GooseBumps.

Step 6
And then, spray the Pear Tart Fireworks! Shimmery Craft Spray.

Dry the ink with a craft heat gun. Make sure to move the heat gun around, not stay too long at one spot to avoid melting the GooseBumps.

Step 7
Wipe the ink spray off using a clean slightly damp paper towel.

You can see the shapes start to pop out of the page adding fun texture to the background page.

Step 8
Stamp the dots texture stamp randomly on the page with VersaMagic Midnight Black ink using first generation stamping technique.

Step 9
Stamp the numbers texture stamp randomly on the page with VersaMagic Midnight Black ink using first and second generation stamping technique.

Step 10
Stamp the old ledger texture stamp randomly on the page with VersaMagic Jumbo Java ink using second and third generation stamping technique.

Step 11
Stamp the leaf branch stamp randomly on the page with VersaFine Clair Green Oasis.

Dry the stamped images with a craft heat gun.

Step 12
Next stamp the cactus stamps randomly on the page with VersaFine Clair Spruce ink.

Dry the stamped images with a craft heat gun.

Step 13
Stamp the first butterfly stamp randomly on the page with VersaMagic Jumbo Java ink using second generation stamping technique.

Step 14
Stamp the second butterfly (smaller size) stamp randomly on the page with VersaMagic Jumbo Java ink using second generation stamping technique.

Step 15
On a white cardstock, stamp the sentiments with VersaMark Ink and then add some of the Gold Mboss Embossing Powder. Heat them with a craft heat gun.

Step 16
Trim the embossed sentiments into sentiment stripes with papercutter or scissors.

Add some of the VersaMagic Jumbo Java ink around the edges with finger sponge dauber to give them some shadow.

Step 17
Add the sentiments to the page with On Point Glue.

Step 18
Draw some border lines around the page and sentiment strips using the Memento Marker Tuxedo Black.

Step 19
For more texture, add some of the Cottage Ivy Fireworks! Shimmery Craft Spray to the page by tapping the sprayer tube.

Dry the whole page one more time with a craft heat gun.

I tried to capture the shiny and shimmery on the page in this picture but it looks even more in real life.

Let’s Make a Sympathy Card

Sadly, I needed to make a sympathy card.

Skill: Intermediate 
Time: 1 hour (plus drying time) 

Directions: 

Step 1: 
Trim a piece of watercolor paper a little bit larger than an A2 sized cardbase (4.5” x 5.75”) and watercolor smoosh the panel with Gray Flannel Memento Ink mixed with water on acetate packaging. Allow the panel to dry. Then repeat the process with Pearlescent Lavender Brilliance Ink and then finally with Champagne Delicata Ink. 

Step 2: 
Stamp stars on watercolor paper with Paradise VersaFine Clair ink. Repeat the process so make the blue of the ink darker. Then heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Then die cut with the corresponding die. 

Step 3: 
Press Blue Belle VersaFine Clair Ink onto another piece of watercolor paper and then use this paper to die cut the sentiment. Die cut two pieces of scrap paper with the same sentiment die and glue the three layers together for dimension. 

Use the corresponding shadow die to die cut a vellum shadow layer and glue behind the sentiment. 

Step 4: 
Spray the background panel with Paris Dusk Fireworks! Craft Spray through a stencil. While the spray is still wet, remove the stencil and spray the panel with Summer Sky Fireworks! Craft Spray to move both colors of spray. Splatter some of the light blue areas of the panel with Paris Dusk Fireworks! Craft Spray. Allow panel to dry. 

Step 5: 
Trim the background panel to about 4” by 5.25” and then distress the edges with a pair of scissors. Press the edges of the panel into the Gray Flannel Memento Ink pad and then heat emboss with more clear embossing powder. 
Next, glue the sentiment onto the center-right and the Star was attached with foam tape. 

Step 6: 
Stamp a sub-sentiment on a small piece of watercolor paper with more of the Blue Belle VersaFine Clair ink and then heat embossed it with more of the clear embossing powder. Then distress the edges with scissors and then press the edges into the Blue Belle VersaFine Clair Ink. 

Step 7: 
Attach the sub sentiment onto the panel with more of the foam tape. Then glue the whole panel onto an A2-sized white cardbase to finish the card.

Watercolored Daffodils Thank You Card

After winter holidays, my family always needs thank you notes. I really love this wonderful daffodils stamp set and wanted to use it to make one of those cards.

Skill: Intermediate
Time: 1.5 hours

Directions:

Step 1:
Stamp the main floral stamp on a piece of watercolor paper with Nocturne VersaFine Clair ink. Heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Then die cut the image with a mid-sized background panel die

Step 2:
Spray Dandelion Fireworks! Craft Spray onto acetate packaging and watercolor smoosh the two flowers.

Step 3:
Color the corona (the central part of the flower) with the Tangerine Fabrico Dual Marker.

Step 4:
Press the Emerald Green Delicata ink pad onto acetate. Then spray Pear Tart Fireworks! Craft Spray onto the same acetate. Mix the ink and spray together. Press the acetate onto the daffodil’s stem and leaf. Then paint the leaf and stem with the remaining green mix. After the image has dried, spray the mix with water to dilute the green. Paint the sides with this lighter color green watercolor. (I ended up using my finger to spread the watercolor the way I wanted, but I don’t mind getting messy!) After this layer dried, press the Emerald Green Delicata ink pad onto the edge of the die cut. Heat emboss the inked edge with more clear embossing powder.

Step 5:
Die cut light green patterned paper with the next-largest die from the background panel die cut set. Brush the Emerald Green Delicata ink around the edges of the panel to mask the pattern and make the green more intense.

Step 6:
Stamp the sentiment with Nocturne VersaFine CLair ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Then trim the sentiment with a paper trimmer.

Step 7:
Trim a piece of the same light green patterned paper a little bit bigger than the sentiment strip with the paper trimmer. Press the edges into the Emerald Green Delicata ink pad and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.

Step 8:
Assemble the card. Glue the two panels together. Glue the sentiment strip onto the light green, slightly bigger strip. Then attach the sentiment strip to the card panel with foam tape. Glue green and yellow sequins around the sentiment and daffodils. To finish the card, glue the whole thing onto an A2-sized white card base.
