Learn How To Create A DIY White Wedding Invitation With Texture

Hello everyone, today I have a quick and elegant card. This technique would be perfect for a wedding invitation. I create the shimmer and texture using the new Sheer Shimmer Stix in Frost and an embossing folder. The base of my card is Whisper White cardstock and I cut a second layer using the same color of cardstock, but apply the shimmer-texture technique for a very cool tone on tone look.

Time: 30 minutes

Directions


Step 1

Determine the area that you want to paint and add texture. I used post it tape to obtain a straight line.


Step 2

Evenly apply the Sheer Shimmer Frost with the Stix Dauber. Let the paper dry naturally, it takes a few seconds only.


Step 3

Without removing the post it tape, take an embossing folder of your preference and align the borders to only emboss the painted area. Pass the sandwich through your cutting machine.


Step 4

Remove the post it tape and stamp your message on the upper area. I used VersaMark and embossing powder in Gold to stamp my message. It is an image included on the stamp set Happily Ever After from The Rabbit Hole Designs.


Step 5

Resize your layer and paste it directly over the card base. If you want to add more decorations or details you can do it before to paste the decorated layer on to the card base.

Learn How To Use Rose Gold Shimmer Stix For A Beautiful Card

The new Sheer Shimmer Stix shows the range of products from Imagine and how the control of the dauber adds just the right amount of shimmer and shine to any crafting projects. Take a look at how this die-cut element is transformed into the star of the show with a few strokes of genius using the clever new Shimmer Stix.

Directions


Step 1

Use a pre-cut heart or download the cut file from the link in the products list below and cut with a Cricut machine. Create the die-cut heart and take it apart. Use a jumbo dauber and blend Radiant Neon Coral around the outside edges.


Step 2

Use the Rose Gold Sheer Shimmer Stix to add shimmer over the inked heart.


Step 3

Use the same Shimmer Stix to add color and shine to the outside of the die-cut heart. Leave to dry.


Step 4

Ink a chipboard sentiment using Radiant Neon Coral ink pad.


Step 5

Ink the chipboard sentiment with VersaMark ink pad and sprinkle with glitter embossing powder. Heat the powder until fully melted with your heat gun. Use On Point Glue to adhere the outside and the inner of the die-cut heart to the front of your folded card.


Step 6

Use Rose Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz to add colored splats to the background of your card and leave the ink drops to dry. Adhere the embossed sentiment to the front of the card and finish off diamanté. The shimmer created by the embossed sentiment and that of the Sheer Shimmer Stix and Spritz makes for an amazing shiny card.

Coral is Imagine’s Color of the month for February 2019. I couldn’t resist using this gorgeous Radiant Neon ink in Neon Coral!! It is really stunning. I wanted a bold contrasting color to pair with it so I chose the VersaFine Clair in Fantasia. They are a match made in heaven! I absolutely love the way the colors play off of each other. They are both strong, bold colors on their own and yet they work fabulously together!

I made both of these Thank You cards at the same time and they were completed quickly. Sometimes it’s nice to have a simple, yet beautiful thank you card ready to give at a moments notice.

Digitalization has changed my life in so many positive ways, but books I prefer having and reading in the old traditional format. My book-lover’s opinion is that one can never have too many books nor bookmarks. Any scrap piece of paper would, of course, serve as a marker that keeps the reader’s place in the book and enables the reader to return to it with ease. But in my opinion, a good book deserves to be accompanied by a beautiful bookmark. Especially if it’s hand-made.

Bookmarks are great gifts, too: A paperback book transforms easily into a festive gift when a hand-made bookmark is slipped between the pages. I’m sure that beautiful bookmarks will make their receivers happy; just like great books will do.

Time: 45 minutes

Directions


Step 1

Trim a strip of light patterned paper, and secure on crafting mat with a few pieces of masking tape. Attach stamp on an acrylic stamping block, turn upside down with the stamp facing the paper. Center stamp on the paper strip, and position stamping tool accordingly. Leaving stamping tool in place, turn the stamping block around. Color a few details of the stamp with Memento markers. Stamp colored details on a paper strip and leave stamping tool in place.


Step 2

Ink the entire stamp with a lighter VersaFine Clair ink color. Stamp again on the same position.


Step 3

Heat-emboss the stamped pattern using clear embossing ink. Trim the bookmark to size and mat on a piece of matching colored or patterned paper.


Step 4

Create a few bookmarks on the same go. Play with different color combinations and patterns. For this multicolor technique, you can use any patterned stamp that has some simple details suitable for highlighting. Both rubber and clear stamps will work fine.

“Bloom where you are planted” is a phrase that means to make the best of our situation…a theme for my art journal page this month. For this journal page, I used Imagine’s Walnut Ink Crystals, which I find to be absolutely fabulous. Use them to create mottled, scumbled, drippy, sprinkly, watercolored painterly effects. Use this effect as a background or paint images with these effects. It plays well with other inks.

Time: 1.5 Hours

Directions


Step 1

Begin by stamping and embossing with Imagine’s white embossing powder. I was going for a theme of rulers and flowers, denoting growing and blooming.


Step 2

Spray the paper with a little water in random areas. Sprinkle the Walnut Ink Crystals, they look like coffee grinds. Spray more water in random areas, to allow the crystals to dissolve more than others. To color in sections, use a paintbrush to color.


Step 3

Techniques for varying the look of the Walnut Ink Crystals. Leave crystals as is, spray more water on some areas, for a watercolored look-paint with a brush, hold the paper up and spray water on the top of the paper and allow the ink to drip down. Allow the paper to completely dry.


Step 4

Add a different, but contrasting color. Place a few drops of Tropical Lagoon All-Purpose Ink on your surface, spray a little water into the ink. Brush the ink in random areas. Spray water and allow the ink to drip. Allow the paper to completely dry.


Step 5

Touch up areas with the walnut ink with a brush. Dissolve a few crystals completely in water to make a solid ink solution. I like to scumble ink in areas, making it look, a little like soil. Allow the paper to completely dry.

Step 6

Using white acrylic paint and Imagine’s Jumbo Dauber, stencil in flowers in random sections. Wash the dauber right away. Allow the paint to dry completely.


Step 7

Place the stencils over the same flowers that were just stenciled with the acrylic paint and color in the flowers by inking with pad directly or using InkBlushers.


Step 8

Vary the look by blending several color inks. Color the flower’s outline with a white Posca pen. Add a sentiment and you’re done.

Use Rose Gold Ink to Color a Beautiful Floral Pattern

Hello dear friends! Today, I have a very special card that I made just using the new All-Purpose Ink in Rose Gold from Tsukineko. All-Purpose ink comes in a variety of colors including metallics which is perfect for this project. Rose Gold is a trending color and can easily use it in all my creations and thanks to Imagine we have many options to use. Take a look at my card:

Directions


Step 1

To create my card, I used whisper white card stock, embossing powder and VersaMark ink. I stamped the flowers over whisper white card stock too using VersaMark and White Embossing Powder. I melted the powder with the heat tool and then started my painted or coloring process with All-Purpose Ink Rose Gold.


Step 2

To color the flowers I used a paintbrush but you can also use Fantastix to have the same result. I cut my card in regular size but after finish it, I changed my mind and decided to reduce the width of the card and show off some of the flowers that I used. After coloring the flowers and leaves, I cut all of them with my scissors and arranged them on the left side of the card. During this process, I changed my mind on how I used some parts of the flowers on the left side.


Step 3

To have the card on normal size, I just cut the right side border about 3/4″ of an inch. I pasted all the flowers with double-sided foam tape and added white sequins with On Point Glue. To finalize the card, I stamped with Memento Paris Dusk a Spanish sentiment from the stamp set Vive Ama Sueña from Latina Crafter. Simple, easy and beautiful!
