Learn How to Blend Ink using Shimmer Stix

New products are always fun but they are even MORE fun when it sparkles which is exactly what Shimmer Stix has in spades. It’s the same beautiful Shimmer Spritz Spray in a fun new package. AND this card is doing double duty by picking up on the Color of the Month – Living Coral but with a twist, it is a combination of 2 Radiant Neon colors blended together to make one with the help of Shimmer Stix.

Skill: Intermediate
Time: 30 minutes

Directions

Step 1

Cut a piece of white cardstock to 3.75 x 5 inches. Rub Radiant Neon Electric Coral on the upper portion of the card panel. Rub Electric Orange Radiant Neon Ink directly over the Electric Coral. Rub Electric Orange Radiant Neon Ink directly over the Electric Coral.

Step 2

Use the Shimmer Stix to blend and drag the inks together down the length of the panel.

Step 3

This blends the ink and colors the panel with shimmer at the same time. It’s hard to show the truly beautiful shimmer you get from the Shimmer Stix but this photo captures a bit of that shimmer and sparkle.

Step 4

Cut a cover-up using the Gina Marie Flower Burst Trio Cover Plate on white cardstock. Mount the cover up onto the Shimmer Blended card panel and affix to a black card base.

Step 5

Cut three “Sparkle” sentiments, one from blue cardstock and two from black cardstock.

Step 6

Use On Point Glue to glue the layers together with the blue on top. Apply a layer of Shimmer irRESISTible Pico Embellisher to the sentiment and let dry. Add a dot of Electric Blue irRESISTible Pico Embellisher to the center of each flower. Adhere the sentiment to the card using On Point Glue. Just look at that beautifully blended shimmer!!

Learn How To Use Rose Gold Shimmer Stix For A Beautiful Card

The new Sheer Shimmer Stix shows the range of products from Imagine and how the control of the dauber adds just the right amount of shimmer and shine to any crafting projects. Take a look at how this die-cut element is transformed into the star of the show with a few strokes of genius using the clever new Shimmer Stix.

Skill: Advanced
Time: 20 minutes

Directions

Step 1

Use a pre-cut heart or download the cut file from the link in the products list below and cut with a Cricut machine. Create the die-cut heart and take it apart. Use a jumbo dauber and blend Radiant Neon Coral around the outside edges.

Step 2

Use the Rose Gold Sheer Shimmer Stix to add shimmer over the inked heart.

Step 3

Use the same Shimmer Stix to add color and shine to the outside of the die-cut heart. Leave to dry.

Step 4

Ink a chipboard sentiment using Radiant Neon Coral ink pad.

Step 5

Ink the chipboard sentiment with VersaMark ink pad and sprinkle with glitter embossing powder. Heat the powder until fully melted with your heat gun. Use On Point Glue to adhere the outside and the inner of the die-cut heart to the front of your folded card.

Step 6

Use Rose Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz to add colored splats to the background of your card and leave the ink drops to dry. Adhere the embossed sentiment to the front of the card and finish off diamanté. The shimmer created by the embossed sentiment and that of the Sheer Shimmer Stix and Spritz makes for an amazing shiny card.

Create a Shimmery “Sending You Love” Card

by Kyriakos Pachadiroglou

A big card, with a big message written on a small charm, can best describe the theme of this card. Using a lot of sparkle both on the background and on the white flowers and leaves, I enhanced the details of the background color and the plain whiteness of the floral decoration. The Sheer Shimmer Stix worked so nice on both the large surface of the stripes stencil and adding detail on the edges of the floral embellishments avoiding overuse of spraying shimmer on the paper and in places not required.

Skill: Beginner
Time: 30min

Directions

Step 1

Use a sponge dauber to apply the VersaColor Pinecone ink on the stripes stencil on the craft card, covering just above half of it on the long side.

Step 2

Leave the stencil on the same place and apply the shimmer using the Sheer Shimmer Stix, easily and with no mess!

Step 3

Use the Sheer Shimmer Stix on the edges of the paper flowers and leaves to add detail and color an 8-inch long piece of cotton cord with it.

Step 4

Color the chipboard with the VersaFine CLAIR Glamorous and add sparkle with the Sheer Shimmer Stix.

Step 5

Fill the metallic charm center heart with the irRESISTible Pico embellisher Morocco color and let it dry.

Step 6

Set the craft card and the corrugated black paper on the card base using the Tear It! Tape.

Step 7

First place the cord and the chipboard on the card.

Step 8

Continue adding the flowers and the metallic charm.

Create a Rainbow Background with Memento Markers and Shimmer Stix

by Lindsay Adreon

I LOVE anything and everything rainbow in cardmaking, and if it sparkles, that’s even better! Making a rainbow watercolor background is pretty simple, but adding a good amount of sparkle without making mud can be more tricky. The Shimmer Stix are the PERFECT applicator to make a fun background that keeps its bright and vibrant colors without sacrificing any of the sparkle! I was so excited that the Shimmer Stix worked for this technique and can’t wait to try them with an ombre background, next!! I made two cards today, a birthday and hello card, plus check out the inside, too!!

See How to Stencil with Sheer Shimmer Stix

by Martha Lucia Gomez

See How to Stencil with Sheer Shimmer Stix Rose Gold and Silver

Hello crafty friends! Today, I am showing you how to use the new Sheer Shimmer Stix with a stencil. It is a fabulous dauber applicator that you can apply and control at the same time. Take a look at my card:

Skill: Intermediate
Time: 1 hour

Directions

Step 1

I used Calypso Coral card stock to create the card base and the second layer is whisper white card stock. First, I took a stencil and secured it over the layer with masking tape. Next, I used Silver and Rose Gold Sheer Shimmer Stix added the shimmery color over the free areas of the stencil. The direct-to-paper application with the dauber top is super easy. The paper dries immediately and the shimmer touch is amazing!

Step 2

In a separate piece of whisper white card stock, I stamped flowers and leaves from the stamp set Wild Rose from Pretty Pink Posh with VersaFine Clair Nocturne and embossed with clear embossing powder. Next, I colored the center of the flowers with a dauber using two different colors of Memento Ink, Desert Sand and Peanut Brittle. For the leaves, I used two different greens of Memento Markers, Pear Tart and New Sprout. Next, I splattered the entire stamped piece with Sheer Shimmer Spritz Rose Gold using the spray tube to splatter the drops.

Step 3

Finally, I fussy cut my flowers and leaves with my scissors, resized the stenciled layer and pasted it directly over the card base. Then, I arranged and pasted the flowers on the lower part of the card. I completed this look adding a shimmering touch to the petals of the flowers with the Dauber Top of Frost Sheer Shimmer Stix and stamped the sentiment over a banner calypso coral with VersaFine Clair Nocturne. I used a Spanish Sentiment included on the new stamp set Sueña Alto from RG Studio 360. I am fascinated with the performance of the new Sheer Shimmer Stix Dauber Tops, you can keep the control of the color, you can mix tones and you can add just in the place that you want!
