See How to Create a Sunburst with a Stenciling Technique

Fun stamped characters and bright ink colors are a joyful combination. I placed my cute dog image on a bright yellow background that was inspired by our warm July color of ‘Tuscan Sun’. I inked the background pattern directly on the folded card base: First, I stenciled a large yellow circle on the card and then inked another patterned layer on top. This double stenciling technique is super easy and using just a part of your stencil pattern makes your old stencil look cool and fresh again! If you don’t have a circle stencil you can cut it from paper or a piece of film/plastic sheet. And instead of a circle, you can use any shape you wish: an oval, a heart, a triangle, a hexagon…the possibilities are endless!

Directions


Step 1

Place card base folded on your craft mat. Place a circle stencil on the card, secure with masking tape. Ink the circle with yellow Cantaloupe Memento ink; dab the ink on the card with a Jumbo Dauber. Remove stencil.


Step 2

Place a pattern stencil on the inked card front and layer the circle stencil on top in its original position. Ink the circle area with orange Tangelo Memento ink. Remove both stencils. TIP: For the second inked layer, any patterned stencil can be used. For catching all the details of the stencil pattern use the smaller Sponge Dauber for inking.


Step 3

Attach a piece of masking tape on the bottom of the card. Cut a paper strip of a matching color and stamp the sentiment on it. Glue strip on the card.


Step 4

Stamp, color and cut out the main image. When coloring with alcohol markers, use Memento ink for stamping. When coloring with watercolors or watercolor pencils, use VersaFine Clair or VersaFine ink.


Step 5

Glue the main image on the card front. Decorate sentiment strip with two white gel pen dots (optional). Finished!

Create Chic Background Pattern on a Card with Goosebumps

For today’s card, I used a few VersaMagic DewDrop Inkpads to watercolor and the VersaFine Onyx Black Inkpad for stamping the floral image and sentiment. I created a circle pattern background using GooseBumps and a paintbrush. Once the GooseBumps was dry I added the VersaMagic inks on top and the GooseBumps created a resist. I wiped the excess ink with a dry tissue and the white circles looked even prettier. Then I stamped a flower and leaf using VersaFine Onyx Black and colored them using the same VersaMagic Inks. I dabbed the inkpads on the Imagine Craft Mat and then picked up the pigment with a wet brush to color the images. I finished the card by adding a sentiment.

See How to Create a Mixed Media Master Board with Mboss

Master Boards are a quick and easy way to create a large supply of beautiful backgrounds in a single session. There are no rules, no limits and they are so much fun to make! Today, I’ll show you how to create a mixed media master board using inks, embossing powders and more.

Skill: Intermediate
Time: 2+ hour

Directions


Step 1

Select a piece of paper for the foundation of the master board. It could be mixed media paper, watercolor, cardstock or something else. I have chosen a sheet from a vintage atlas for this project.


Step 2

Scrape the smooth side of the Squeegee across the Cheerful VersaFine Clair inkpad. Drag the inked Squeegee across the paper. Repeat 2-3 more times.


Step 3

Continue to pick up ink on the Squeegee using Golden Meadow and Morning Mist VersaFine Clair inks.


Step 4

Apply Verdant VersaFine Clair ink through a harlequin stencil and Green Oasis VersaFine Clair ink over a square stencil using a stipple brush.


Step 5

Pounce VersaMark ink over a leaf stencil in several places over the page.


Step 6

Sprinkle Mboss Lucky Stars embossing powder over the ink; shake off the excess and return it to the handy space-saving pouch. Heat the embossing powder to melt.


Step 7

Stamp flower several times over the paper using VersaMark ink; cover with Yellow embossing powder, shake off excess and return it to the pouch. Heat the embossing powder to melt.


Step 8

Stamp various collage images over the paper using VersaFine Clair inks.


Step 9

Spritz Dandelion irRESISTible Texture Spray over the entire sheet and let dry. You now have a lovely master board ready to use for all sorts of projects. Below are just a few examples made using this single master board.

Hello friends! Today I have a quick package, normally called ‘Sour Cream Container’ shape. I created it with designer paper and added an extra special touch with Versa Magic Inks. I selected a two-step stamp from Altenew, the Leaf Canopy stamp set. It includes the lineal and solid images but this idea can be made with any type of stamps.

Time: 15 minutes

Directions


Step 1

Stamp, with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, the lineal stamp using a stamping tool over a yellow piece of designer paper of 6″x 6″ size.


Step 2

Remove the lineal stamp and place the solid stamp over the lineal stamp and pick up with the acrylic door. Ink the solid images entirely with Mango Madness VersaMagic Ink and stamp. Ink up a few touches on the insides of the leaves with Red Magic VersaMagic Ink and stamp. I used the DewDrop inkpads in VersaMagic because with the teardrop shape it is very easy to add the selective color to the images without getting the second color accidentally over the whole image.


Step 4

Add double-sided Tear It Tape to one entire inside border and paste it over the opposite side to create a tube. Add double-sided tape to one end to close by pinching it together. Place the candy or gifts into the tube. Add the tape to the other end and close, pinching in opposite (90 degrees) direction.


Step 5

As a final touch, I added a tiny sentiment that I created with a die-cut and adhered with On Point Glue.
