Create Easy Heat Embossed Ink Blended Backgrounds for Stunning Notecards

by Lisa Mensing

In this video, I’m heat embossing and doing a little ink blending today to create this fun take on a notecard, pun intended. I always like to keep note cards around especially this time of the year when a lot of people experience the after-holiday “blahs”.I think it’s nice to send them a little note reminding them that their not alone and I’m thinking about them. I’m going to get started by sharing a few of the products I’m using and a reference guide before I jump into making this card.

Learn How to Create a Cute Penguin Greeting Card

by Roni Johnson

Learn How to Create a Cute Penguin Greeting Card

Red isn’t the first color you would normally associate with snowflakes and winter but I thought it would be fun to spice up a few Christmas cards with Imagine’s Color of the Month Chili Pepper! I did just that by combining Lady Bug Fireworks Spray and Summertime VersaFine Clair inks. Check it out!

Skill: Intermediate
Time: 30 minutes

Directions

Step 1

Cut a piece of white cardstock 4” x 5.25”. Stamp “Burst of Snowflakes” background stamp onto the card panel using VersaMark ink.

Step 2

Sprinkle the stamped image with MBoss Iridescent Opaque embossing powder. Shake off excess powder back into the pouch. Melt the powder with a heat tool and let cool.

Step 3

Spray the entire panel with Fireworks Shimmery Craft Spray in Lady Bug (red). Let the panel dry naturally or speed up drying with a heat tool.

Step 4

Once the Fireworks! spray has dried, sponge a layer of Summertime VersaFine Clair ink (orange) over the entire panel to give it that orange-red look of chili peppers. Wipe off any excess ink from the embossed areas.

Step 5

Stamp the Cuddlebug Penguin on a piece of white cardstock with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink. Watercolor the image by scribbling the ink from Memento Dual Tip Markers directly onto the Craft Mat; blend and pick up the inks off of the mat using a waterbrush. After the image was dry I added a few details with a white gel pen.

Step 6

Trim both the image and the snowflake panel. Adhere the snowflake panel to a black card blank using Tear It Tape. Attach the penguin to the card using foam tape.

Step 7

Stamp the sentiment “Hello There” on a scrap of white cardstock and affix over the penguin.

Learn How to Make an Embossed Background with Mboss

by Arjita Sepaha Singh

Learn How to Make an Embossed Background with Mboss

Today’s I used a beautiful Floral stamp set by Waffle Flower and few Mboss Embossing Powders in purple and magenta hues. I stamped the Floral image on a vellum piece with VersaFine black onyx ink and added Clear Mboss Powder. This gives a beautiful glossy effect on the image. For the background, I dabbed the VersaMark pad directly onto the card stock and created an ombre effect with the Mboss Embossing Powders. I repeated this process twice to get a rich shimmery effect. To finish the card I adhered the floral image and a “hello” sentiment.

Create a Paint Brush Splatter Style Card with Waffle Flower Stamps

by Roni Johnson

September brings a wonderful pairing of Waffle Flower stamp and all of the amazing products from Imagine. Today I wanted to share a card I made using Waffle Flower’s set Little Painter. I just love the variety of brushes and the cute little tubes of paint. They are so much fun to color and the uses are endless.

Skill: Intermediate
Time: 45 minutes

Directions

Step 1

Cut a piece of white cardstock 4” x 5.25”. Flick a variety of colors of All-Purpose Ink onto the card panel using a paintbrush. Rotate the card panel with every application of ink so the splatters come from different directions for a more natural look. Set the panel aside to dry.

Step 2

Stamp the paintbrushes onto a piece of white cardstock using VersaFine Clair Ink; stamp 3 tubes of paint onto a separate piece of white cardstock using the same ink. Sprinkle Black Mboss embossing powder over all of the images; shake off excess powder and return it to the pouch. Melt the embossing powder with a heat tool and let the embossed images cool.

Step 3

Watercolor each image using the same colors of All-Purpose Ink that was used to create the background. Fussy cut each image and set it aside. Stamp the easel image onto a scrap of brown cardstock and fussy cut.

Step 4

Mount the background splatter panel onto a red card blank; arrange and adhere the images as desired. Cover the paint blob with a layer of Sparkle irRESISTible Pico Embellisher to add shine and a touch of sparkle.
