Create a Valentines’ day card with a mixed media feel and matching washi tape that you make yourself in a few easy steps using your Imagine Craft Mat. Add interest with inks and textures layered to create interest.

Skill: Intermediate
Time: 1 hour

Directions

Step 1

Spray a piece of white cardstock with Fireworks Shimmery Craft Spray in Lady Bug and leave to dry.

Step 2

Use the direct-to-paper method and ink the remainder of the pane using Lady Bug and Lilac Posies Memento DewDrop inkpads.

Step 3

Use sponge daubers with ink to create a bokeh effect to the background. First, add red inked circles using Memento Luxe in Love Letter and then add white Brilliance circles over the top and slightly off-set for a fun effect.

Step 4

To create your own matching washi tape, adhere a strip of masking tape to your Craft Mat.

Step 5

Use Memento DewDrop ink pads to add color to the masking tape strip.

Step 6

Use VersaFine Clair in Morning Mist and a texture stamp to add script stamping to the tape. Leave the ink to dry before adhering the tape to your card.

Step 7

Carefully peel the masking tape off of your Craft Mat and adhere the washi tape to your card panel.

Step 8

Emboss the panel using a love-themed or Valentine’s Day themed embossing folder. Add a layered die-cut heart with a silver leafed heart on top. Finish off your card with ink splats and diamanté for a mixed media look and feel.

Use VersaMagic and Brilliance Ink to Quickly Color a Card

by Arjita Sepaha Singh

For today’s card, I heat embossed a few images with white embossing powder and added color by rubbing the VersaMagic and Brilliance Dewdrop inks directly on them. The embossing created a resist and it was super duper quick to have colored elements ready for the card. I heat embossed sentiment on vellum and also created a wooden plank background using Versafine Clair ink. This was a quick card to create and you can do similar cards for your friends and family for any occasion.

Create Paper Poinsettias with Memento Ink and Dewlets

by Steph Ackerman

Create Paper Poinsettias with Memento Ink and Dewlets

Dewlet Etched Metal Dies are perfect to use with Dew Drop Inkpads. Simply stamp the droplet shapes then align and cut the dies using any die cut machine. There are many options with the shape to play and experiment. Once I started playing with the dies, I found myself creating two very different cards. Simply by flipping the droplet shapes allows you to create poinsettias, leaves, and even dragonflies.

Skill: Intermediate
Time: 1 hour

Directions

Step 1

Stamp each stamp pad onto white cardstock. Punch out the petals by using the Dewlet dies and a die cut machine.

Step 2

Ink around each petal for dimension, then use a stylus to give the petals dimension.

Step 3

Create the background by inking a large background stamp with white ink then emboss with clear embossing powder to create a tone-on-tone effect. Using a jumbo dauber, ink around the panel with Memento in Love Letter, then edge with Brilliance in Thyme.

Step 4

Adhere the stamped panel to a kraft card. Create the poinsettia by assembling the petals on the card. Place two leaves behind the poinsettia. Use irRESISTible Pico Embellisher in Lady Bug to add dimension to the poinsettia petals. Stamp a sentiment with VersaFine Clair in Pinecone, edge with Memento in Love Letter and mat with cardstock. Add to the card with foam adhesives.

Step 5

Add drops of irRESISTIble Pico Embellisher in Lady Bug on opposite corners of the card.

Step 6

For the dragonfly card, create a kraft card and add a panel of striped paper. Using Brilliance in Sky Blue ink, stamp onto white cardstock. Emboss with Embossing Powder in Clear and heat set. Die cut each and emboss with an embossing folder. Use On Point Glue to adhere the tips of 4 petals to the card creating a dragonfly. Use On Point Glue to adhere a row of dew drops for the body. Add drops of Shimmer irRESISTIble to the corners. Stamp phrase with Pinecone Ink. Cut into a pennant shape, made with cardstock. Add to card with foam adhesives.

Imagine always has just the right tools for this beautiful copper metallic and golden-hued theme! For November, Imagine is working with Rinea papers and I am having so much fun experimenting with how they emboss and handle ink products! Learn Vintage Monotone Watercoloring with Walnut Ink

by Arjita Sepaha Singh

I stamped a beautiful flower bunch from Simon Says Stamp with Brilliance Ink on a watercolor paper. I added some water on a small scoop of Walnut Crystals and painted the entire bunch with it. This is a monotonic theme card and I have used only one pigment to create all the highlights and shadows. I stamped a simple sentiment with Pinecone Versafine Clair ink and the painted panel is ready.
