Create Fun Card Backgrounds Using Stencils and VersaFine Clair Inks

By Amalia Montano

Hi! This is Amalia with Imagine crafts. In this video, I am using the new VersaFine Clair colors and stencils to create backgrounds that will turn into beautiful cards. The VersaFine Clair inks are highly pigmented and stamp perfectly the first time. They are vibrant and great for use with watercolor as they won’t bleed when wet. I love color and use the new colors with coordinating card stock from my stash for a tone-on-tone look. I hope you get inspired with the new colors and what I am able to create with them.

I wanted to create some backgrounds just to get my creative juices flowing. I am so glad I did because I was able to use many of the different cardstock scraps and designer paper scraps to make some really cute backgrounds.

I used different stencils from my stash, some blending brushes, and a few Imagine Crafts inks and daubers to create backgrounds that I turned into Birthday cards.

Beginner Guide: Kaleidacolor Ink Variety of Colors for Any Time of the Year

kaleidacolor swatching video

by LeeAnn McKinney

Greetings crafty friends! In this quick ink swatching video, I used the Waffle Flower Swatch Stamp and Die set for Kaleidacolor Ink Pads to show how these multicolor inks can be used throughout the year. These dye, water-based inkpads are a favorite of mine for fun quick backgrounds, easy stamp pad storage, keeping colors organized and the 5 colors in one ink pad make it even better.

Kaleidacolor in Baby Powder has a light pastel variety — perfect for baby shower invitations with light pinks, blues, and yellows. Kaleidacolor in Autumn Leaves and Vineyard – perfect for Fall themed cards – Halloween + Thanksgiving. My favorite for Winter Christmas Cards or Holiday Cards is Blue Breeze which is an all-blue palette giving that icy winter wonderland mood.

October Color of the Month is Pebble Grey

The Color of the Month is Pebble Grey. We choose this color of cool grey to express the moody change of the warm Summer colors to the cool Autumn breeze. Some of the ink colors from the Tsukineko brand that perfectly express this cool grey is Memento in London Fog, VersaFine Clair in Morning Mist and StazOn Midi in Cloudy Sky.

Another fabulous art event for October is Inktober! This is an illustration and ink based challenge started by Jake Parker. Each day in October has a word that illustrators and artist respond to with a drawing! We are excited to have some of our own artists participate!

To start us out Roni Johnson has #poisonous posted today!

And as usual, we will have some great card making and crafting inspiration! Here is a sneak peak of what is coming for the month of October.
