Learn How to Water Color a Halloween Card with Fireworks Shimmery Craft Spray

by Jowilna Nolte

Hi everyone, today I am sharing a gorgeous embossed Spider Web theme background using Fireworks sprays. One of my favorite techniques with Fireworks is to remove the lid and use the ink as a watercolor. First I stamp a grungy bird with VersaFine Clair. Since VersaFine is an oil-based ink, the stamped area will not lift when water-based inks are applied. This is an important feature to understand about VersaFine.

Hope you enjoyed this quick lesson. Create your own variation to make cards, Halloween decor, Fall, and other festive holiday crafts. Combining orange, purple, and black ink with a touch of gold creates a stunning end result.

By Jowilna Nolte

how to make a homemade halloween card with chocolate cat theme

In this card making tutorial, I show you how I created an amazing bokeh background effect using StazOn ink onto glossy paper. I stamped with a texture fall leaf pattern plate to create a faux resist effect. My focal point is a heat embossed and ink blended circle with a cute scary kitty – perfect (purrrfect) for Halloween. Make an Eye-popping Neon Hello Card for Your Friends

by Mischelle Smith

I’m so excited with Imagine’s new On Point Glue and wanted to test drive it with one of my favorite trends – stacking die cuts. I’m very pleased with this glue and my results. On Point Glue is easy to use and the fine-tipped applicator works great for applying glue exactly where I want it!

Skill: Intermediate
Time: 20 minutes

Directions

Step 1

Attach “Entangling Thread” stencil to card front with washi tape. Using Jumbo Dauber apply color. Remove stencil. Attach Bittersweet Mini stencil to card front using washi tape and repeat technique to create the layered effect.

Step 2

Die cut ‘hello’ four times. On one ‘hello’ die cut apply Radiant Neon ink directly to the ‘hello’ cut. Apply On Point Glue to the backside of one ‘hello’ die cut and attach to card front as shown. Continue to layer ‘hello’ die cuts until you have finished. Make sure the die cut with color added is the last layer attached.

Step 3

Remove applicator from irRESISTible Texture Spray and use it to flick drops of spray on the card front. Finish the card with Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz to add that extra bit of sparkle and shine.

The Secret Ingredient is Love

by Jowilna Nolte

Jowilna Nolte makes The Secret Ingredient is Love Tag using StazOn ink. orange, blue, brown, texture, stencil, mixed media, shimmer.

The best and most beautiful things are felt with the heart and cannot be seen – a favorite saying of mine and also the inspiration behind my themed tag this month. I used inks and paste to create a shimmering background for this beautiful tag.

Skill: Intermediate
Time: 30 Minutes + dry time

Directions

Step 1

Add some texture to a tag using a stencil and texture paste. Once the paste is dry, use a brayer and roll Delicata Golden Glitz onto the tag randomly and leave to dry.

Step 2

Start by inking some Blue Hawaii StazOn ink onto the tag over the gold texture background. Add color in 2 or more areas using a jumbo dauber.

Step 3

Use a clean jumbo dauber and ink your tag using Orange Zest StazOn ink in the open areas, overlap the ink onto the blue inked areas too, so the colors blend seamlessly into each other.

Step 4

Now add some brown Ganache StazOn ink around the edges of the tag using another jumbo dauber.

Step 5

Mist the inked tag using Gold Shimmer Spritz and leave to dry. The shimmer gives the StazOn inks a beautiful look. Finish by adding the sentiment and any additional embellishments with foam tape. I choose to staple the sentiment and add three hearts with gold thread in the back.

Tip: To clean the StazOn ink on my craft mat I use StazOn stamp cleaner and then wipe it clean, otherwise, the ink will permanently stain your mat.
