Independence Day Celebration Card

By Ceal Pritchett

Hello crafty friends!
It’s Ceal, back to share another project with you.  We always have a cookout on the 4th of July and invite our family. I always make invitations to send out for it and I am sharing the one I made for this year.

Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate
Time: 45 minutes to an hour

Directions:

Gather your supplies. You will need an A2 card base, blue cardstock strips, a white panel, gold foil paper, star dies, a stencil that has July 4th elements on it, Ink, and paste of some sort.

Step 1:
Place the white panel in the Misti or other stamp positioner on a grip or sticky mat. Mask off portions of the panel that you do not want ink on. Using Red (VersaFine Clair Strawberry used here ) ink and a blending tool cover the celebrate with ink. Remove stencil and clean for next step.

Step 2:
Lay the firework part of the stencil over the part that you just inked up and mask off the portion of the card so the paste will not get on it.

Step 3:
Using a squeegee spread the paste (I used gold) over the firework part of the stencil. Be sure to clean the squeegee and the stencil promptly because the paste will harden.

Step 4:
Add the star to the center of the firework and the blue strips of cardstock to each end of the panel. Add panel to the card base

Imagine Products:
• VersaFine Clair – Strawberry
• Squeegee

Other Supplies:
• Misti Stamping Tool – My Sweet Petunia

Red, White, and Blue Birthday Wishes Card

By Monica Edwards

Welcome back to the Imagine blog. Today, I will show you how to use your VersaColor ink cubes to make a fun and creative background to celebrate America’s birthday.

Skill Level: Beginner
Time: 30 Minutes Approx.

Directions:

Step 1
Take a sheet of white cardstock cut it to 4×5 (set aside)

Step 2a
Take your VersaColor ink cube in Neptune and blot the color onto the stamp.
I applied the blue to the kids, grass border and bit of the flag.

Step 2b
Next, I blotted on some Memento Luxe in Love Letter on the flag.
This will give you the two-tone color stamping.

Step 3
Stamp your image on the white cardstock

Step 4
Next, create a mat for the piece of white cardstock by taking a piece of navy cardstock and cutting it to 4.25 x 5.25 inches. This will leave a 0.25-inch navy border around the white cardstock.

Finish your card with a sentiment.

Products Used:

Imagine:
• Memento Luxe – Love Letter
• VersaColor – Nautical Blue

Other:
Hammermill:  White Cardstock

Make a Fourth of July Card with Colorful Heat Embossing

By Jessica Lin

Hi everyone! Are you ready to celebrate the Fourth of July? I made a sparkly, light-up card to celebrate the occasion. It’s been a while since I heat embossed with colorful embossing powders and I truly miss this simple and fun technique. Be sure to check out the supply list at the end to see the colors I used!

Skill Level: Advanced
Time: 1 hour

Step 1:
Stamp one image from MFT’s Festive Fireworks set with VersaMark ink pad. Then pour on embossing powder with the color of your choice. Repeat the steps if you would like to use different colors of embossing powders, making sure to heat set the powder before moving on to the next color. The colors I used today are Mboss – Valentine, Lucky Stars, Princess Party, and Shimmering Night Sky (not pictured here).

Step 2:
Use Brilliance – Galaxy Gold ink pad to stamp the layering images. I used a stamp positioning tool so that I could restamp a couple of times and get good ink coverage. The gold stamped images look so well against the black background, don’t you think?

Step 3:
I decided to add interactive elements to make this card even more festive! I used Chibitronics LED light stickers to create the light up circuit. If you are interested in making a light up card, feel free to check out the step-by-step video tutorial on my YouTube channel “Craft with Jessica V. Lin” and search for “How to Make a Fireworks Light Up Card with BLACK Cardstock”.

Step 4:
For some finishing touches, I splattered some Sheer Shimmer Craft Spray to the background. I used the brush-over-acrylic-block flicking method, but you could use the spray nozzle to add a fine mist of shimmer as well. Then I adhered some sequins with On-Point Glue, and that completes the card!

Imagine Supplies:

Other Supplies:

  • MFT – Stamps – Festive Fireworks
  • We R – Tool – Precision Press
  • Antistatic Powder Tool
  • Heat Tool
  • Hero Arts – Dies – Infinity Circle (to die cut the small center circles for light to shine through the fireworks images)
  • Chibitronics – Tool – LED sticker and Circuit Tape
  • Foam Tape
  • Black cardstock

Be a Star with New Embossing Techniques

2022-June-Martha-Lucia-600x600_1

By Martha Lucia Gomez –

Hello there! In today’s crafting tutorial, I will be sharing two easy ways to upgrade the basic embossing techniques using a Brilliant Ink and embossing power or MBoss.  This is a great idea for any occasion, however like summer is around the corner, I created a Patriotic Card honoring 4th of July.

Skill Level: Intermediate
Time to Complete: 1 hour

Directions:

2022-June-Martha Lucia - Patriotic Card - Step 1
Step 1:

Select a piece of card stock and embossing folder. Use a piece of cardstock larger than the folder. Dry emboss it in the normal way using your die cut machine.

2022-June-Martha Lucia - Patriotic Card - Step 2

Step 2:

Pick a brayer or any type of roller to add ink to the emboss design. Noticed that you can use any face of the embossed piece to develop this technique. I am using Brilliance Pearlescent Sly Blue and Shimmer White Cardstock.

Step 3:

Ink your brayer completely and apply the Brilliance Ink over the surface with a soft movement. You don’t want to transfer the ink to the debossed part.

Step 4:

Repeat the step 3, until you are satisfied with the color of the layer. In my sample, I made this step three times to have a great covering.

Step 5:

Create the card base and layers that you wanted to use. In this model I am using white card base, and blue die cut layer to create a contrast. Resize your inked embossed piece to use it as top layer over the die cut piece. Select a shadow die set with a sentiment or any other type of image to create a window over your inked layer. Don’t paste your layers yet.

Step 6:

With the shadow or die base of your die cut, create a window over the inked layer. If you want you can save the die cut layer to use in another project.

2022-June-Martha Lucia - Patriotic Card - Step 7

Step 7:

Paste the inked embossed layer over the die cut layer using your favorite adhesive. If you want to have more dimension, you can use foam tape. Paste the decorative piece over the card base.

Cut the word or image according with the die cut that you selected.

Step 8:

With masking tape, cover the half of the die cut word and made a partial hot embossing using VersaMark Ink and your favorite color of embossing powder or MBoss. In my model, I am using the Metallic Berry.

Don’t remove the masking tape if you want to repeat the above step and obtain shinier and dimension with the hot embossing. I repeated this step twice.

Step 9:

Paste the embossed word and decorate with a complement sentiment and/or embellishments. I used a tiny sentiment stamped with Memento Paris Dusk and a few die cut stars in white cardstock.
