See How to Make a Moon and Stars Art Canvas with Fireworks Spray

Create a beautiful dimensional Moon and Stars home decor element using resin embellishments and Fireworks Shimmery Craft Spray. Combine warm rich colors to compliment your yellow and the end result is simply stunning. A quick and easy project with lots of colors showcasing the amazing shimmer and shine by using Fireworks.

Time: 30 – 45 minutes

Directions


Step 1

Add stenciling to a piece of wood using texture paste and leave to dry. Adhere resin elements to the block over the stenciling and leave to dry.


Step 2

Paint the entire block with the dimensional elements on using black gesso. Make sure you cover all the pieces and the sides too. Leave to dry.


Step 3

Use 3 to 4 colors of Fireworks Shimmery Craft Spray and mist over the entire design. Layer the colors over each other. Use a heat gun to dry layers in between and then add more color until you are happy with the look.


Step 4

Once the colored layers are dry, give it one last misting of Sheer Shimmer Spray in Sparkle for extra shine. I also added some Delicata Gold inker and rubbed it over the resin elements with a sponge to highlight the details and dimension.

See How to Create a Sunburst with a Stenciling Technique

Fun stamped characters and bright ink colors are a joyful combination. I placed my cute dog image on a bright yellow background that was inspired by our warm July color of ‘Tuscan Sun’. I inked the background pattern directly on the folded card base: First, I stenciled a large yellow circle on the card and then inked another patterned layer on top. This double stenciling technique is super easy and using just a part of your stencil pattern makes your old stencil look cool and fresh again! If you don’t have a circle stencil you can cut it from paper or a piece of film/plastic sheet. And instead of a circle, you can use any shape you wish: an oval, a heart, a triangle, a hexagon…the possibilities are endless!

Directions


Step 1

Place card base folded on your craft mat. Place a circle stencil on the card, secure with masking tape. Ink the circle with yellow Cantaloupe Memento ink; dab the ink on the card with a Jumbo Dauber. Remove stencil.


Step 2

Place a pattern stencil on the inked card front and layer the circle stencil on top in its original position. Ink the circle area with orange Tangelo Memento ink. Remove both stencils. TIP: For the second inked layer, any patterned stencil can be used. For catching all the details of the stencil pattern use the smaller Sponge Dauber for inking.


Step 3

Attach a piece of masking tape on the bottom of the card. Cut a paper strip of a matching color and stamp the sentiment on it. Glue strip on the card.


Step 4

Stamp, color and cut out the main image. When coloring with alcohol markers, use Memento ink for stamping. When coloring with watercolors or watercolor pencils, use VersaFine Clair or VersaFine ink.


Step 5

Glue the main image on the card front. Decorate sentiment strip with two white gel pen dots (optional). Finished!

Create Chic Background Pattern on a Card with Goosebumps

For today’s card, I used a few VersaMagic DewDrop Inkpads to watercolor and the VersaFine Onyx Black Inkpad for stamping the floral image and sentiment. I created a circle pattern background using GooseBumps and a paintbrush. Once the GooseBumps was dry I added the VersaMagic inks on top and the GooseBumps created a resist. I wiped the excess ink with a dry tissue and the white circles looked even prettier. Then I stamped a flower and leaf using VersaFine Onyx Black and colored them using the same VersaMagic Inks. I dabbed the inkpads on the Imagine Craft Mat and then picked up the pigment with a wet brush to color the images. I finished the card by adding a sentiment.

See How to Create a Mixed Media Master Board with Mboss

Master Boards are a quick and easy way to create a large supply of beautiful backgrounds in a single session. There are no rules, no limits and they are so much fun to make! Today, I’ll show you how to create a mixed media master board using inks, embossing powders and more.

Skill: Intermediate
Time: 2+ hour

Directions


Step 1

Select a piece of paper for the foundation of the master board. It could be mixed media paper, watercolor, cardstock or something else. I have chosen a sheet from a vintage atlas for this project.


Step 2

Scrape the smooth side of the Squeegee across the Cheerful VersaFine Clair inkpad. Drag the inked Squeegee across the paper. Repeat 2-3 more times.


Step 3

Continue to pick up ink on the Squeegee using Golden Meadow and Morning Mist VersaFine Clair inks.


Step 4

Apply Verdant VersaFine Clair ink through a harlequin stencil and Green Oasis VersaFine Clair ink over a square stencil using a stipple brush.


Step 5

Pounce VersaMark ink over a leaf stencil in several places over the page.


Step 6

Sprinkle Mboss Lucky Stars embossing powder over the ink; shake off the excess and return it to the handy space-saving pouch. Heat the embossing powder to melt.


Step 7

Stamp flower several times over the paper using VersaMark ink; cover with Yellow embossing powder, shake off excess and return it to the pouch. Heat the embossing powder to melt.


Step 8

Stamp various collage images over the paper using VersaFine Clair inks.


Step 9

Spritz Dandelion irRESISTible Texture Spray over the entire sheet and let dry. You now have a lovely master board ready to use for all sorts of projects. Below are just a few examples made using this single master board.

Quick & Easy: Quick & Easy Stenciling Technique

Today, I am sharing a very simple Tuscan Sky using Memento inks and a cloud stencil. Adding different colors of ink, in a repeating pattern gives a lot of interest to your card. The technique is simple, yet the final product looks professional and gorgeous. This is also a popular trend with card makers and having a few simple tools, will allow you to join the fun as a beginning paper crafter.

We will be working on a piece of cardstock cut to 4.25 x 5.5 inches, and we will call this our panel. Choose a stencil with a cloud edge. If you do not have a stencil, this is not a problem, simply cut out a piece of thick card stock with bumps like a cloud. Make sure your cut piece is several inches wider than your panel. Next, choose the Dandelion (yellow) Memento Ink and pick up a bit of color with a sponge dauber. Dab a little off onto your craft mat or a scrap piece of paper before inking your panel. Place the stencil edge near the bottom of your panel. Gently add color over the top of the stencil/or cloud cut-out onto the panel. Using a light touch, move the dauber in a circular motion over the edges of the tops of the clouds.

Repeat step one with all four colors of ink. For each layer, move or flip your stencil to get different patterns for each layer. I did two layers each of Dandelion, Morocco, and Danube Blue, and one layer of Paris Dusk at the end to represent the sky behind the clouds. Next, choose a sentiment from any clear stamp set and stamp a sentiment using the Danube Blue Memento Ink on the cloud scene panel.

Add Tear It Tape to the backside of the cloud panel and adhere to an A2 sized card base. Make sure you press the tape down firmly so it will be easier to peel the backing off the tape. It is best to use the tape on the edges of the card so the paper does not curl on the card base. Once you peel off the backing, adhere to the front of your card base. Don’t forget to check that the fold of the card base is on the left side.

At this point, the card is finished and is ready to gift! You can continue to embellish with extra details such as glitter, decorative dots, or hand-drawn elements, but it is pretty just as it is too.
