By Kathi Rerek

I’m continuing my experimentation with Metallic Brilliance Inks with this Father’s Day card using two of my favorite themes – cats and Steampunk!

Skill Level: Advanced
Time: 2.5 Hours

Directions:

Step 1:
Use a brayer to apply Starlite Silver Brilliance Ink to a 5” x 7” Gel Press. Place a piece of black mixed media paper onto the Gel Press. Smooth the back of the paper to transfer the in and pull a print.

Step 2:
Repeat Step 1 to enhance the coverage.

Step 3:
Clean the brayer, then use it to apply Starlite Black Brilliance ink to the Gel Press. Place the print back onto the Gel Press inked side down. Smooth the back of the paper, then pull the print. Heat set the inked paper, then clean the brayer and the Gel Press.

Step 4:
Place the inked black mixed media paper into the Foundry 3D Alterations Embossing Folder. Spritz the back of the paper with water. Close the folder and run it through a die-cut machine.

Step 5:
Use a Sponge Dauber to apply Cosmic Copper Brilliance Ink to the high points of the embossed paper. Heat set.

Steps 6A and 6B:
Use Fantastix to apply Turquoise Gem VersaMagic Ink randomly to the high points of the embossed paper (6A). VersaMagic Ink has a matte chalk finish which comes out when it’s heat embossed.

Use another Fantastix to Apply Mango Madness VersaMagic Ink randomly to the high points of the embossed paper (6B). Heat set the panel and set aside.

Step 7:
Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the cat from the Steampunk Pets Clear Stamp Set onto white cardstock.

Step 8:
Fussy-cut the image and use Copic markers to color it. Use a dark marker to edge the cut image. Set aside.

Step 9:
Use the largest die from the Sprightly Sprockets Shapeabilities Die Set to cut black mixed media cardstock two times. You will end up with two cogs and two circles.

Step 10:
Sponge Lightning Black Brilliance Ink over one of the cog die-cuts and one of the circles. Heat set both.

Step 11:
Use On-Point Glue to adhere the inked cog atop the other one.

Step 12:
Use a Sponge Dauber to apply Starlite Silver Brilliance ink to one of the circles from Step 9. Heat set.

Step 13:
Place the silver-inked circle into the Gears Alterations Folder and run it through a die-cut machine.

Step 14:
Use a Sponge Dauber to apply Cosmic Copper Brilliance Ink to the high points of the embossed circle. Heat set.

Steps 15A and 15B:
Use Fantastix to apply Turquoise Gem VersaMagic Ink randomly to the high points of the embossed paper (15A).

Use another Fantastix to Apply Mango Madness VersaMagic Ink randomly to the high points of the embossed paper (15B).

Step 16:
Use Tear It! Tape to adhere a slightly larger circle to the back of the stacked cog die-cuts.

Step 17:
Use a Sponge Dauber to apply Starlite Silver Brilliance Ink to a strip black mixed media paper. Sorry that there’s no photo. Use cog dies to cut the silver-inked black paper.

Step 18:
Use a C2 Copic marker to color a piece of white cardstock. Use magnets to secure the colored cardstock onto a stamping platform. Place the “Happy Father’s Day” sentiment stamp facedown on the colored cardstock. Ink the stamp with Turquoise Gem VersaMagic Ink and stamp. Repeat inking and stamping if necessary to attain a good impression. Remove the stamped cardstock from the stamping platform and heat set the ink.

Step 19:
Use a rectangle die to cut the sentiment. Use the matching nameplate die to cut the Lightning Black circle. Adhere the sentiment die-cut atop the nameplate die. Sorry that there’s no photo.

Step 20:
Use Tear-It! Tape to adhere the embossed circle and the Steampunk Cat onto the cog die-cut. Use the tape to adhere the sentiment as shown.

Step 21:
Use On Point Glue to adhere the gears, cogs, and screws to the sentiment die-cut.

Step 22:
Cut black cardstock to 10” x 7”. Score at 5” and fold to form a 5” x 7” card. Use Tear-It! Tape to adhere the image panel to the front of the card.

Hello Friends! Katy here and today I am sharing how I blended my Fireworks! Sprays with Memento Ink pads to create some custom colors.

In todays video tutorial I am use some Fireworks! Pear Tart, Bamboo Leaves and London Fog sprays mixed with Memento inks in greens and blues to create a Father’s Day card. I find any type of leaf foliage works really well for masculine cards and this one is no exception. I added some splatter with remaining blues and London Fog Fireworks! and also used some irRESISTible spray in Wedding Dress to complete the look. Make a Father’s Day Card with Gorgeous Textures and Dimension

2021_May_JN_Fathersdaycards_2

By Jowilna Nolte

For Father’s day I a pulling out some of my favourite products from Imagine and creating gorgeous textures and dimension. Shades of blue gives card a fun but masculine feel and the shimmer adds just that bit of elegance – perfect for even the hardiest of men.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Time: 45minutes including drying time

Directions:

2021_May_JN_fathersdaycards_step1

Step 1

Use a variety of Memento Luxe inks in shades of blue and blend a background.
Tape your stencil to your smooth white cardstock to hold it in place.
Blend the darkest shade of blue Nautical Blue and then Teal Zeal.

2021_May_JN_Fathersdaycards_step2

Step 2
Blend some Bahama Blue – remember to overlap onto the previous colour to get a nice blended effect.

TIP: For seamless blending I vary the pressure I apply. When blending over the previous colour I have a very light hand ensuring I only blend the colour instead of replacing it.

2021_May_JN_Fathersdaycards_step3

Step 3

Lastly, I blend some Grey Flannel right at the bottom of my card.

2021_May_JN_Fathersdaycards_step4

Step 4

While my stencil is still in place I apply a thin layer of Creative Medium over the entire panel.
You can also get creative and tape off some shaped areas like I did here.
While the Creative Medium is still wet, lightly sprinkle with clear frosted glitter before removing the stencil carefully. Leave the paste to dry – as the medium dries it keeps the glitter in place.

Step 5

Punch a large vellum circle. Use Memento Markers to add a stamped element onto smooth white cardstock and punch into a circle.

Stamp a sentiment using VersaFine Clair and trim to size. Assemble your elements to the stencilled background once dry and adhere the panel to a folded card. Finish off with diamante and enamel dots.

The embossing powder adds some glamour and shine to this simple yet fun card. Just like the couple – fun colours combined together with a touch of glam and pizazz.
Mboss embossing powder really takes any project t the next level. Available in a  huge variety of colours they truly are amazing.

So many fun products used for a simple but striking card.

Create An Awesome Accordion Fathers Day Card

by Roni Johnson

Tunnel cards just got that much cooler because of StazOn Pigment Inkpads! You can now stamp on acetate and really build up those layers without all of the cutting and snipping like traditional tunnel cards. With the help of StazOn Pigment Inks simply stamp on acetate panels, use Tear It! Tape to affix the panels to the accordion sides and you’re good to go! It takes a matter of minutes instead of hours!

Skill: Advanced
Time: 20 minutes

Directions

Step 1

Stamp beginning layer on a card to use as a stamping guide. Originally I thought I would use this as the back panel of the card but the green was too dark so I stamped a second panel on white cardstock to use as the final layer of the tunnel.

Step 2

Cut acetate (transparencies) to the desired size. I cut 4 layers for this card.

Step 3

Position one of the acetate panels over the stamping guide. Stamp the panels from back to front stamping panel #4 first.

inks yield crisp clean opaque images on the acetate
Step 4

Continue stamping each consecutive layer as desired. As you can see here the inks yield crisp clean opaque images on the acetate. The best part is they dry in a matter of seconds allowing you to stack the next layer on top of the last for ease of alignment and stamping.

Create the accordion side panels by creasing a 4” x 4 ¼” card panel at ¼” increments.
Step 5

Create the accordion side panels by creasing a 4” x 4 ¼” card panel at ¼” increments.

Step 6

Use On Point Glue to create 3 flats between the mountains as shown in the photo. These flat pieces will be what you affix the acetate panels to creating the tunnel effect.

Use Tear It Tape to affix the front acetate panel to the card frame.
Step 7

Cut a frame for the front of the card. Use Tear It Tape to affix the front acetate panel to the card frame.

Step 8

Adhere the accordion pieces to the back sides of the frame. Use Tear It Tape to adhere to each consecutive panel to the accordion sides as shown in the photo.

Your tunnel card is ready to go!
