Create a Beautiful Mixed Media Layout in Shades of Green

Are you green with envy of the new trendy mixed media scrapbooking style or are you on the fence? I love the 3-D style so much, but it is a bit unrealistic if you can’t put these creations in an album, but have to frame them or store them in a box. Today, I am sharing my version of mixed media, just enough to add interest but still clean and simple enough to go into my album.

Time: 1 hour

Directions


Step 1

Ink a large floral stamp using Memento Dew Drops in 3 shades of green. See product list below.


Step 2

Mist the inked stamp with water and stamp it onto a sheet of white cardstock.


Step 3

Mix a small amount of pearl texture paste with Memento Luxe re-inker. Mix the color into the paste until fully colored.


Step 4

Stencil over your stamped background using your colored paste and leave to dry.


Step 5

Once the paste is dry, add some more color to your background. Add 2 colors of Memento ink to a plastic packet and mist with water. Then lift the plastic packet and stamp the ink onto the background and leave to dry.


Step 6

Add color to white flowers using Memento and Fireworks Spray. Assemble your layout. Add colored splats using Fireworks spray.


Step 7

Once your layout is assembled drop some ink onto the art stones to add color to them. Use the nozzle from the bottle and drop the ink onto the stones. Leave to dry. Add background stamping and rhinestones to finish off the layout.

Create a Mum Flower Home Decor Piece with Vertigo and StazOn Pigment

There is nothing better than using your crafting skills to create a gift for someone. That is what I did for this mum, or chrysanthemum, flower project—a gift for my mom. (Get it – a mum for mom?!) Crucial to achieving this fun look, I used Vertigo in Prism and Mboss Embossing Powder in Hologram. I created a 5”x 5” framed Mixed Media piece full of color and texture. Directions


Step 1

Cut Vertigo into 5” x 5” panel.


Step 2

Stamp the Mum flower onto the center of Vertigo panel with StazOn Pigment Piano Black.


Step 3

On the opposite side of the stamped image, color the mum with VersaMagic ink and Fantastix applicators. Simply touch the tips of the Fantastix to the inkpad to pick up the color and use like a marker.


Step 4

Die-cut the mum with coordinating die.


Step 5

On white cardstock, sponge VersaMagic ink to add color.


Step 6

Stamp script stamp with StazOn Pigment.


Step 7

Add texture to Vertigo panel with Hologram Mboss Embossing Powder. To do this, swipe the front of your Vertigo Panel with VersaMark inkpad. Apply powder sparingly and shake off excess. If you want a more sparse texture, you can always use a dry brush to knock off more before heat setting.


Step 8

Add black paint splatters.


Step 9

Add Tear It Tape to the back side of the Vertigo panel.


Step 10

Adhere tulle between the cardstock and Vertigo panels, then adhere to piece of prepared cardstock.


Step 11

Embellish with sequins.


Step 12

Tie a white string around the panel.


Step 13

Add double sided dimensional tape to the tulle.


Step 14

Spray the Mum Die cut element with GooseBumps for extra shine.


Step 15

Once dry, adhere the mum to the panel.


Step 16

Adhere sticker saying “let life surprise you” sentiment. Add any additional finishing touches and insert into the picture frame.

Sparkle And Shine With This Jellyfish Theme Birthday Card

Thinking back when I did my first heat embossing, it was pure magic. That feeling of amazement and wonder hasn’t left but has been ignited once again with the amazing Mboss from Imagine. The new embossing colors are simply amazing and really are over the top beautiful! You have to get some for your stash to experience true magic! Take a look at how I used mine for a fun color-blocked effect.

Skill: Intermediate
Time: 30 minutes

Directions


Step 1

Tape off areas using washi tape on a white cardstock panel.


Step 2

Use your VersaMark inkpad and ink the taped off sections only by tapping the ink pad onto the cardstock.


Step 3

Use the Mboss packet and sprinkle the powder over the inked areas. Peel off the washi tape and then heat set the Embossing Powder using a heat gun.


Step 4

Use StazOn Pigment Piano Black and stamp Happy Birthday sentiment onto a blank area of the embossed panel.


Step 5

Stamp elements onto white cardstock and cut out. Add a little color using Memento Markers.


Step 6

Adhere the stamped elements onto the embossed panel with On Point Glue. Add diamanté and finishing touches.

See How To Make These Artist Trading Cards With Vertigo Dragonflies

This cardmaking project is all about using layers of ink to create a collage background with stamps and stencils. It’s a great way to build a cool background in order to feature that perfect focal image, like a Vertigo, die cut dragonfly.

Skill: Intermediate
Time: 30 minutes

Directions


Step 1

Apply VersaMagic DewDrops to a Craft Mat and add water.


Step 2

Lay 8.5” x 11” piece of cardstock down into the wet ink. Repeat as needed.


Step 3

Apply VersaMagic through the diamond shape stencil with a sponge dauber.


Step 4

Stamp script stamp with StazOn Pigment Ink.


Step 5

Apply water and blot with a paper towel, pulling some ink away.


Step 6

Spray panel with Walnut Ink, blot and dry. This gives the paper a vintage or antique look.


Step 7

With a different stencil apply a different color of VersaMagic. This creates a beautiful layered effect.


Step 8

Using the same stencil, apply White VersaMagic to make a bit of a frosty ghost effect.


Step 9

Cut cardstock panel to multiple 2.5” x 3.5” ATCs or Artist Trading Cards.


Step 10

Stamp a vintage postcard image with VersaFine Clair.


Step 11

Edge ATCs with brown and black inks to continue the antique look.


Step 12

Tie string around each card a couple times to give the ATCs to give extra flair.


Step 13

Die cut dragonfly image from Vertigo Prism, color with VersaMagic.


Step 14

Prepare dragonfly with double-sided dimensional tape. This will give each dragonfly the effect of flying.


Step 15

Adhere dragonfly die cut to ATCs.


Step 16

Enhance dragonfly with a white pen and embellish with tag and sticky gems.

See How to Create a Layered Wedding Invitation

The versatility of stamps and ink is the best part of my everyday. When it comes to making beautiful cards or wedding invitations the sky is the limit. I wanted to see how the new StazOn pigment would work on various handmade papers that I often use for invitations and there’s no surprise that this ink is made for so much more than the ordinary. Take a look at what I stamped on this invitation all using this amazing ink.

Skill: Beginner
Time: 30 minutes

Directions


Step 1

Print the details of the invitation on smooth foiled handmade paper and trim to the desired size. Mine measures 5 x 7”.


Step 2

Next, I stamped a small little flower randomly all over the printed invitation using StazOn in Snowflake. It’s there and looks amazing but hard to see on a photo.


Step 3

Trim a piece of acetate the same size as the invitation details and stamp a lace border at the bottom and the same small flower as previously on the top half of the acetate piece.


Step 4

Use the same small flower and stamp it onto your silk ribbon using the StazOn Pigment. This was my best discovery that it stamped perfectly, was dry instantly and looks amazing.


Step 5

Layer a handmade piece of textured paper at the bottom, then the invitation details portion, handmade silk paper with the stamped acetate on top of it all. Adhere the paper pieces together with On Point Glue using a small drop only.


Step 6

Punch 2 holes at the top of the layered stack and tie with the stamped ribbon into a bow.


Step 7

All the stamped layers look so amazing on top of each other and this ink worked on all the surfaces I tried and tested – and the end result is simply exquisite.

See How to Create an Elegant Save The Date Card

April is the month of white weddings here at Imagine. With the new addition of StazOn Pigment, this month is going to be amazing. I can’t imagine life without StazOn pigment and can hardly remember the ways back when. So let’s explore this amazing ink some more with this Save the Date card.

Skill: Beginner
Time: 15 minutes

Directions


Step 1

Place an acetate sheet onto a darker surface so you can see when you have stamped. Ink the stamp with StazOn Pigment in Snowflake (white) and stamp repeatedly onto acetate.


Step 2

Once the ink is dry, which is really quick, use a bone folder to fold the acetate in half and trim to size. Mine measure 3″ x 8”. Fold a piece of grey paper and trim to fit inside the acetate cover. Adhere with a small piece of tape at the back.


Step 3

Mist a piece of ribbon using Sheer Shimmer Spray in Frost. The spray gives the ribbon an off-white finish that is gorgeous. Dry the ribbon with a heat tool.


Step 4

Add printing side the grey folded sheet as desired. Wrap the ribbon around the outside and tie a printed Save the Date tag to it. Tie the ribbon into a double bow to finish off your clean an elegant Save the Date card.

The beautiful white stamping on the acetate makes for an elegant look and feel, setting the scene for what’s to follow at the wedding.
