Make a Beautiful Heart-Shaped Plywood Ornament

Make a distressed heart-shaped plywood ornament with Walnut Inks. Color with Memento inks for a smooth result and decorate with stamps and StazOn inks for a sharp and bleedless design.

Skill: Beginner

Time: 1 Hour

Directions:

Step 1

Paint the plywood shape with All-Purpose White ink color. Let it dry well.

Step 2

Sprinkle drops of the Walnut Ink Eucalyptus, add very few Walnut Ink Crystals and spray with water to dilute further. Dry well.

Step 3

Use a Sponge Dauber to smoothly add color with Memento Rich Cocoa and Pear Tart ink pads.

Step 4

Stamp the foliage first with the Memento Bamboo leaves and then stamp on top, slightly offsetting to the first design, with StazOn Olive Green.

Step 5

Stamp butterflies with StazOn Fuchsia pink and Royal Purple ink pads.

Step 6

Add a sentiment with StazOn Jet Black.

Step 7

Cut 12″ long pieces of the cotton ribbon and spay with the Walnut Inks Eucalyptus, Lilac and Cherry Blossom. Let them dry.

Step 7

Tie the cotton ribbons on the heart shape.

Make a Colorful Card Perfect for Advancing to the Next Grade

– I dream in color literally. This was the case the other night when I dreamt about some alcohol ink that wasn’t alcohol ink. And so experimenting started. I used my VersaFine Clair ink pads on Yupo paper. Now technically this will never dry but here is the trick how to create that gorgeous look.

Time: 30 minutes

Step 1

I used 200gsm Yupo paper in white. Swipe the first color of ink across the paper once or twice depending on how wide you would like your strip.

Now continue with the second and third color of ink.

While the ink is still nice and wet use your blending solution and add quite a bit of it onto the ink. Let it sit for a while and then swirl the paper around to mix the colors a bit.

TIP: I also added some into a misting bottle and sprayed the inks to create small little drops of texture on it.

Step 5

Leave to dry. I left mine to dry for a while and still had some thicker areas where the ink pooled that stayed tacky, so I simply used a clear sealant and sprayed that over the paper and left it again. It dried nicely and now all I have to do is use this gorgeous Faux alcohol ink piece of a project.

Trim your panel to fit onto the front of a folded card and adhere the panel using Tear It! Tape.

Add a vinyl decal and stamped sentiment, then finish off your card with a few scattered diamante. And in a few minutes you created this gorgeous colorful card perfect for advancing to the next grade.

How to Create a Fun and Colorful Birthday Card

When I think of all my favorite inks I think of how well they can work together. There’s no better way to create interest than combining different types of inks together for some stunning effects and making easy striking cards.

For this card I simply used a single ink splat stamp and combined it with my favorite inks for a stunning end result.

Step 1

Combine VersaFine Clair and Memento Luxe inks in the same color to stamp layers. For my first color I combined the yellow inks – first stamping Golden Meadow VersaFine Clair and then on top I stamped Dandelion Memento Luxe.

All my stamping was done in a bit of a diagonal line.

Step 2

Repeat the process using Verdant VersaFine Clair and Pistachio Memento Luxe.

Step 3

Repeat the stamping using Warm Breeze VersaFine Clair and Teal Zeal Memento Luxe.

Step 4

Lastly combine the red by first stamping Glamorous VersaFine Clair and then finish off with Love Letter Memento Luxe ink.

Step 5

Trim your stamped panel to fit into a folded card base. Cut a vinyl holographic sentiment and adhere to your card. I off-set mine with a white die-cut piece for a shadow effect and dimension. Finish off with some diamante.

Make a Sparkling Summer Birthday Card

Summer means outdoor celebrations and color – and that means loads of fun right?
Make every celebration special by adding loads of fun and bright colors to birthday cards.
Take a look at this easy and fun way I use color and shimmer on this card.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Time: 30 minutes

Directions:

Step 1

On smooth white cardstock add some stenciled details. I used Creative Medium and mixed some Red Brilliance Inker into the medium before applying it through a stencil using my palette knife.
Leave the stenciling to dry.

Step 2

Once the stenciled detail is dry, add some color using Memento and VersaMagic Dew Drop ink pads.
Apply the ink, once color at a time to a plastic packet and mist with water. Then stamp the color onto your background by flipping the packet over and pressing lightly.
Add more colors and then leave to dry.

Step 3

Stamp your image using VersaFine Clair Nocturne onto smooth white cardstock.

Step 4

Use your Memento Markers to add color to your stamped image. I used colors to match my background.

Step 5

After coloring the image, add a layer of embossing in Sparkle Mboss powder. Ink the image with VersaMark and sprinkle with powder.
Shake off the excess and then use a heat gun to melt the powder. This gives the image a bright and fun shimmering finish.

Step 6

Use your Tear-It! tape to adhere the background strip to your folded card. Stamp a birthday sentiment below the strip using VersaFine Clair Nocturne.
Adhere the embossed image using foam tape for some dimension and finish off by adhering diamante using On Point Glue.

Make a Super Fun Birthday Party Banner

Cut some V-shape fabric pieces and decorate with large dots using MEMENTO inks and Imagine’s Jumbo Daubers. Use the Tear It! Tape to set everything in place and small round pieces of SHEET metal to add some shine and embellish this party banner.

Skill: Beginner

Time: 1 Hour

Directions:

Step 1

Lay the piece of fabric and mark two lines with 8″ apart of them. Mark the top every 6″. Leave 3″ from the same start point to the bottom line and mark again every 6″ and this will be the pointed edge of your flag. Mark the side lines in V shape and cut the flags.

Step 2

Use the Jumbo Daubers and the MEMENTO ink pads, Pear Tart, Summer Sky and Lilac Posies to make large spots just by long pressing the Jumbo Daubers on the fabric.

Step 3

Use stamps and the VersaFine CLAIR Nocturne ink pad to randomly place sentiments on the fabric.

Step 4

Cut 3×1.5in pieces of the card stock to create tags, stamp with the happy birthday stamp and the VersaFine CLAIR Nocturne ink pad and distress the edges with the MEMENTO ink pads.

Step 5

Place Tear It! Tape on the back of the tags and place them on the flags.

Step 6

Add Tear It! Tape to the top edge of the back side of the flag and fold to the size of it.

Step 7

Open holes to the flags, tie a 7″ long piece of jute cord to connect the flags and add ribbons and round SHEET metal pieces in the middle of each cord.
