Skill: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced

Time: 45 min

Directions:

Cover glasses with All-Purpose ink and StazOn Studio Glaze to create frost and smoke effects. Die-cut and emboss SHEET metal to make embellishments that are covered with StazOn colors.

Step 1

Cover the glass surface with All-Purpose Ink white using a Sponge Dauber and lightly pressing on it creating a frost effect. Let it dry. (Use a heat tool to speed up the process)

Step 2

With a Sponge Dauber repeat the above using the StazOn Studio Glaze Cloudy sky.

Step 3

Place Tear It! Tape around the mid section of the glasses.

Step 4

Place the jute cord over the Tear It! Tape and wrap around to cover.

Step 5

Die-cut heart shapes of the SHEET metal in two different sizes. (If you don’t have a die cutting machine, use scissors to easily cut heart shapes of the SHEET metal).

Step 6

Cover with the StazOn Black Cherry using a Sponge Dauber.

Step 7

Continue with the StazOn Studio Glaze Claret.

Step 8

Lightly sand the SHEET metal hearts to reveal the silver color.

Step 9

Make some loops with the jute cord, glue them on the glasses and add the hearts.

Learn to Make a Unique Slimline Valentine Card

By Neva Cole

Today I am sharing how to make a Slimline Valentine using Memento inks. Slimline cards are very trendy. This is a great quick and easy card that can be given to the special guy in your life for Valentine’s Day.

Skill: Beginner

Time: 30 minutes

Directions:

Step 1

A great thing about slimline cards is that you only need a single sheet of 8.5” x 11” cardstock for the card and card front. Trim cardstock to 7” x 8.5” and score to make a card base of 3.5” x 11. It will fit in a standard A10 envelope. Use a Sponge Dauber and Memento Rose Bud to ink the outer 0.5” of the card base.

Step 2

Trim the remaining cardstock to 3.25” x 8.25”. Edge with Memento London Fog. Stamp a background in Memento Angel Pink with a small Valentine’s themed image. I used an ancient Rollergraph heart stamp. It is very subtle but adds just a bit of depth to the card.

Step 3

Die-cut four layers of cardstock with the Technique Tuesday Paper Airplane on the Border Die.

Step 4

Ink one loop with a sponge dauber and Memento Rose Bud. Ink one airplane in Memento London Fog. Ink one airplane leaving the cutout section in place when inking with Memento Tuxedo Black.

Step 5

Layer the loops together with dots of On Point Glue, the lower photo shows the very small dots of glue, a little goes a long way! Lightly press together to create a raised die-cut.

Step 6

Using On Point Glue, layer the Memento Tuxedo Black airplane over one white airplane. Layer the third airplane with the cutouts removed over the Memento Tuxedo Black airplane. Layer the Memento London Fog airplane with cutouts removed on top.

Step 7

Stamp sentiment image in Memento London Fog. I placed all the elements on the card to decide the position before using a stamp positioner to stamp the sentiment.

Step 8

Adhere the card front to the base using Tear It! tape.

Step 9

Adhere die cuts and sequin embellishments with On Point Glue.

Create a Cool Houndstooth Heart Card Using Radiant Neon and Delicata Inkers

By Alison Heikkila

I love to stretch my craft supplies, so finding new ways to use things always makes me happy. Today, I will share a fun way to use your luscious Radiant Neon and Delicata Metallic Inkers. This particular card was made for Valentine’s Day, but you can easily change out the colors, shapes, and stencil for any occasion.

Skill Level: Beginner

Time: 30 Minutes

Directions:

Step 1

Start by placing a heart shape onto your work surface. I used Gel Press Petite but if you don’t have any but you do have a Gel Press, you can easily free-hand cut or die-cut a shape of your choosing after you’ve made your print. Apply a drop or two of the Electric Pink Radiant Neon Inker on to the right side of the heart, and the Electric Coral Radiant Neon Inker on the left.

Step 2

Smooth and blend the colors with a brayer.

Sep 3

Lay the Houndstooth stencil on top of the heart and lay a piece of copy paper on top of that. Press the paper with your hand to lift the color from the open areas of the stencil. Pull the paper off, and you have the beginning of a print for a later date.

Step 4

Leave the stencil in place and apply a few drops of Delicata Silvery Shimmer Inker onto the heart. Roll out the color with your brayer.

This photo shows how the ink colors look on the plate, before lifting the stencil.

Step 5

Lift the stencil off of the heart and apply a new piece of copy paper to the heart. Smooth the paper onto the heart with your hands (or you can use your brayer), and pull the print. Now you have the positive and negative spaces filled with color, using only reinkers! once the paint is dry, you can cut the shape out. You may want to use a heat tool for this since this ink is a pigment ink and takes a long time to dry.

Step 6

For the stenciled panel, cut a piece of black cardstock to 4″ x 5 1/4.”

Step 7

Lay the Houndstooth stencil on top and apply Silvery Shimmer ink (I used the pad) to the center of the panel with a blending brush. I kept the color heavy in the middle and faded it as I worked my way out in circular motions.

Step 8

Stamp a sentiment in the lower right corner using the same ink.

Step 9

Apply a few drops of the Golden Glitz Inker to an acrylic block and flicked the color off the block with a paintbrush.

Step 10

Once the panel is dry, apply it to a gray card base and adhered the heart on top, at an angle.
